Classroom Of The Elite Season 2 is a drama and suspense series developed by Studio Lerche. Lerche is a studio that is very well known for developing popular anime such as Assassination Classroom, Given, and Monster Musume. It is based on a light novel illustrated by Shunsaku Tomose and written by Shougo Kinugasa. The series is also known as Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e Season 2 in original Japanese.
The series is being directed by Seiji Kishi, Yoshihito Nishouji, and Hiroyuki Hashimoto. They are known for directing projects the likes of Angel Beats, Assassination Classroom, and the first season of this show which came out in 2017. Classroom Of The Elite Season 2 Episode 6 Review- You Win Some, and You Lose A Lot
Classroom Of The Elite Season 2 has been disappointing for our characters, with their inability to register any wins being a huge plotline driving the show. First, it was the weird discussion round inside the boat that they lost because Kushida betrayed them, and now it is the sports festival which has been one loss after another for the group, making for a rather uncomfortable watch. There seems to be no way out of this situation, especially considering the stranglehold Kushida seems to have on every person in the class, including Ayanokoji.

Or does she? Let us first address the fact that she is a remarkably annoying character as a protagonist or an antagonist. She has her motives, but us not knowing any of them and watching her bring everyone down is extremely crablike behaviour. She is taking herself down along with the rest of her class and getting absolutely nothing from it, as far as we know, except one thing. She and Horikita have a history that has been mentioned quite a bit since the show started, and it seems to be coming to the forefront. There is only one single problem with this- it is massively boring.
On the one hand, you have the storyline of a class of misfits rising up against a corrupt system to become the highest ranking class in the most acclaimed institute in their country. On the other hand, there’s a catty fight between two girls pretending to be someone they are not, which has done nothing but interrupt the first storyline since it started. Which one of these options sounds more interesting to you? Having someone as annoying as Kushida (in both her forms) hurts this storyline quite a bit, even if there is necessarily anything wrong with it being present in the show.

Another thing that’s a pain to sit through right now is Ayanokoji’s apparent inaction. He has been established as a game changer, someone who not only deserves to be at the top class of this school but to reign as its king. However, all he has done this season is sit back, observe, and set up a few of his pawns in strategic places that might help him later on in the series. That is a hugely interesting storyline waiting to happen whenever the show decides it is time, but for now, all we can do is wait and watch. However, he did do a lot more in this episode than he has in quite a while, which was refreshing.
There are many moving parts in this story, from Horikita’s brother to Class C’s Mafia boss and everyone in between, making it quite unpredictable if it wants to be. The problem is, it never does anything with it beyond someone swooping in with a win in the middle of a competition with very little (or too much) explanation. This is a show with a lot of potential that it never capitalises on, which is quite disappointing most of the time. This was the end of a hugely underwhelming sports arc where almost nothing of note was accomplished, and it shows.
Verdict
Classroom Of The Elite Season 2 Episode 6 was another underwhelming episode that featured a lot of storylines that went nowhere, alongside some annoying characters. The halfway point wasn’t kind to this season.
