Big Mouth Episode 9 Best Moments: A Masterclass of Showmanship

Big Mouth Overview

Big Mouth (빅마우스) is a crime-thriller-mystery Korean TV series directed by Oh Choong-hwan and stars Lee Jong-suk, Im Yoon-ah (Yoona), Kim Joo-hun, and Yang Kyung-won, alongside other cast members. The series takes over MBC’s Friday-Saturday 10 PM KST timeslot, previously occupied by Doctor Lawyer.

Big Mouth Kdrama revolves around Park Chang-ho, a below-average lawyer who gets embroiled in a conspiracy when his “big mouth” lands him in trouble. A murder case ends in him being called genius swindler Big Mouse, which results in him scrambling to clear his name and his life from the conspiracy and its results, with the help of his wife Ko Mi-ho.

Big Mouth Episode 9 Best Moments

Episode 9 has been quite explosive, hasn’t it? Not only does it showcase Chang-ho as an absolute boss, but it also showcases who Big Mouse is (probably!). There’s literally a lot going on – Chang-ho opens Pandora’s Box in front of all of Korea and proves in the best way possible that Chae-bong, Jae-ho and Du-geun had, in fact, murdered Jae-young, that there is a mystery paper out there and that Ji-hoon is totally stupid.

There’s a lot going on the series promises more to go on in the next episode, so before that one comes around to blow our minds, even more, it’s only fair to get deep into episode 9. Here are our picks:

Big Mouth Episode 9 Best Moments

1. That entire scene in the courthouse

No, I refuse to break it down only to only Chang-ho’s entry or Do-ha essentially asking Ji-hoon to F-off or Ji-hoon telling Hye-jin that the three guys did murder Jae-young; because come on, it’s all amazing to watch! Not only do we watch Chang-ho being a total badass and our HoHo couple working together seamlessly even while being apart, but that Ji-hoon scene in the cafe is so satisfying!

2. Joong-rak’s face after being kicked out of the investigation thanks to Chang-ho

That title is self-explanatory, but if there’s something that made me feel totally satisfied with the aftermath of Chang-ho’s explosive showcase, then it’s the prosecutor’s face as all of his files are taken away from his office. Great stuff. Jang Hyuk-jin is extremely funny here without even trying it.

3. Do-ha reminds Chae-bong and the others that they should want him to be spotless

Honestly, everything Do-ha in this episode is satisfying and intriguing. It’s also weirdly heartbreaking since even though I sort of had an inkling that Do-ha is doing something shady, I honestly didn’t expect him to be behind Jae-young’s murder. Also, him sitting around in front of that gold bar mountain and thinking back to how he manipulated everyone and everything – yep, pretty satisfying.

4. Mi-ho plays along with Do-ha

If you believed for one second that Mi-ho would play down everything going on as Do-ha tries to get the information out of her, then you need to rewatch this episode. There’s no way she’d just be this passive when something this sketchy is going on!

5. Chang-ho meets Big Mouse?

Or maybe he meets someone Big Mouse sets up as the fall guy? I feel Do-ha manipulated or threatened (or both) Jerry into going as Big Mouse. We’ll know that in episode 10, but I have a feeling it’s not going to be that simple.

Check out the series on Disney+ and on MBC.
