We have just one more episode left until the spectacular series comes to an end. With Min-ji now in big trouble given Kim is facing his enemies again, we got another episode packed with combat and him running to save his child. While episode 9 has some repetitive moments, the series proves that the action scenes are the best part of the series, and it’s worth it!

Agent Kim Reactivated Episode 9 Review
Action Takes Centre Stage
From the scene where the team enters the hotel till the end, nothing slows down in this episode. Instead of moving between locations, the series focuses on massive action in the same spot with intense choreography and the perfect atmosphere.
The corridor fights, stairwell arguments, and elevator slamdown: it all feels connected and makes the viewers enjoy the mission. Rather than relying on quick edits, the direction gives many of the fight scenes their own fair time to reach the viewers in an impactful way. One amazing moment is when Jin-cheol and Han-su have a mini bet as to who can fight more enemies. Though it is a funny bet, their action scenes show how strong they are.
Creative Cinematography Elevates Every Fight
Episode 9 is the series’ mega fight dance. The best scene is Kim taking down the bad guys by using a night-vision helmet camera. It is such an immersive action scene as we all felt the fight from a first-person perspective.
The elevator fight is another standout. Unlike many action dramas that have a huge space to fight, a tiny little elevator was more than enough for this man to knock off the bad guys. Jin-cheol, usually portrayed as someone funnily aggressive, is finally pushed to his physical limits, making the victory feel personal.
Similarly, Han-su’s battle against a fellow Olympic-level fighter shows this man in a completely different manner. Forced to improvise with whatever he finds in the kitchen, Han-su survives through his skills and intelligence. Bravo!
The Team Dynamic
Episodes may pass with emotional storylines and action choreography, but something that stays wonderful is the friendship between Kim, Jin-cheol and Han-su. Sang-a and Mr Lim also remain one of the iconic team friendships. remains one of the drama’s greatest achievements.
Honestly, the scene where the team tries to find the missing tranquiliser further proved why this trio is enjoyable to watch. Jin-cheol’s pissed emotion after being reminded he was previously shot multiple times with tranquillisers adds comedic charm amidst the chaos. Rather than existing solely as supporting characters, Sang-a and Mr Lim now feel like the members. The way they make each mission feel like a collaborative effort makes them two as prominent characters.
Repetitive Storyline
Despite the action scenes being top-notch, episode 9 comes with some flaws. The biggest problem is the kidnapping idea coming in again. Gang-chan has been pushed to face the consequences of his action. But it only made him stronger to do something wrong again. He unties himself and plans another kidnapping, making this particular storyline feel repetitive. Why do you want to kidnap again and again?
The decision to target Jin-cheol’s and Han-su’s children does add a different stake, but the concept of kidnapping is overrated. Similarly, the larger political conspiracy involving corrupt officials and North Korean operatives still feels too underdeveloped. It is already the finale week, and somehow the North Korean conspiracies just don’t sit well with me.
Final Thoughts
Then comes the closing scene that adds drama. We have a preview of the finale episode where we see Kim, Jin-cheol, and Han-su appear to be forced into a deadly cage fight, with innocent children held hostage. This raises a question as to how the last episode is going to close the whole series and give a proper conclusion.
Regardless of whether the finale can conclude the political conspiracy, Gang-chan’s revenge, and Kim’s future with Min-ji, episode 9 has set a great action-packed chapter for us to watch and enjoy.
