The Bad Batch Season 2 Episode 6 Recap Contains Spoilers
In The Bad Batch Season 2 Episode 6, Hunter and others are on Vanguard Axis for Cid’s new mission. Hunter, Tech and Wrecker go inside while Omega and Echo guard the ship. They’re here to make some delivery for her, some forgeries. The Axis Leader insists on examining them.
When Echo enters the ship, Omega walks away and sees two droids attacking Shyriiwook, named Gungi. When the droids warn Omega, Gungi attacks them. However, more Axis droids barge in to see what’s happening. Echo also joins the duo to fight the droids.
The Axis Leader gets an alert about droids getting attacked. Hunter and others sense that something is wrong and follow the leader. The Axis Leader is not pleased and warns everyone that they will be destroyed. Gungi manages to get the lightsaber from the Axis Leader, and they all fight him and his droid army.

Hunter, Omega, the Shyriiwook and others successfully manage to get inside the ship and leave Vanguard Axis. The Wook doesn’t trust them as they’re also Clones. Hunter tells the Wook that they’re not like others and don’t follow the Empire.
Omega suggests that they can take Gungi to his home. But Echo believes the Empire must be already there, looking for him. Hunter says that he’s a Jedi and he’s not safe anywhere. They all head to a village where there are more Wookies.
When they land, some weird creatures surround them. The Wookie tells them that these creatures won’t attack until they don’t. The creatures let them walk ahead without causing any harm. Sadly, the Empire had destroyed the village already.

They all hear some noise and run in that direction. The Trandoshans have held a Wookie hostage. The Trandoshans are there under the orders of Commander Venomor. Gungi gets angry, runs towards them, and starts fighting with his lightsaber. Hunter, Wrecker, Tech, Echo and Omega join him in the fight.

They successfully defeat the Trandoshans and save the other Wookie. Later, more Wookies arrive and are happy to be together. Yaana, a Shyriiwook leader, questions Hunter about why they’re here and want to help Gungi. He answered that they don’t see eye-to-eye with the Empire and came here as Gungi was in trouble. Hunter believes that the Wookie is still a child and needs his people.
The Stormtroopers arrive at the village with Venomor. They all notice the lightsaber marks and send out their army to find the Jedi. Yaana lets Hunter and others spend some time in the village. Omega tells Hunter that Yaana has agreed to let Gungi stay in the village. But she also senses a large convoy heading towards them. Yaana asks Hunter and the others to leave, but they decide to stay and fight by their side.
Tech, Hunter, Wrecker, Omega and Echo devise a plan to defeat the enemy. A Wookie informs that the trees in the village also have a plan. When the convoy almost arrives, there’s a big blast, and both sides fight each other. The trees play a major role in helping Hunter and others in combat. The Commander sets the trees on fire, which starts spreading fast.

Gungi fights Venomor but later gets help from the Kinreth creatures, who attack him. Gungi and Omega pray for the trees. Hunter tells Yaana they’re both kids but don’t get to be in this galaxy. Yaana tells him, “When a young one leaves, the trees weep. But when they return, the trees sing.”
Yaana tells Hunter and Tech that Gungi has found a new home in their village, and they will all find their new path one day. Hunter hopes that it’s far away from war.
The Bad Batch Season 2 Episode 6 Review: Final Thoughts
The Bad Batch Season 2 Episode 6 starts somewhere and takes an unexpected turn in the next 10 minutes. Even though Hunter and others are working for Cid in the new season, they have their own adventures and battles. This is the second time where they didn’t carry out the mission successfully. But managed to save a life. By including the Shyriiwook, the creators are getting us closer and bringing together the world of the Empire, clones and Jedi.

While the episode was decent, my favourite part was the last 10 minutes. The scene where Hunter talks about Omega not getting to live her childhood and his concern about war shows that he is becoming more human.
Watch the new episode on Disney+ Hotstar.
