Somebody: 3 Alternate Endings for the Psychotic Murderous Couple

Somebody (썸바디) is a dating app murder mystery that comes with a love story that can make you love, hate and feel fear until the end. The thriller brings to you a tragic love story of two psychotic people who should have either met earlier or never met at all.

Directed by Jung Ji-woo, the drama stars Kim Young-kwang, Kang Hae-lim, Kim Yong-ji, and Kim Soo-yeon, alongside other cast members. The screenplay of the Kdrama has been written by Han Ji-wan.

The thriller was definitely among the best watched this month and we enjoyed every bit of the mystery that also broke our hearts with the crazy love the two leads share. While this love was definitely a deadly one, they brought out the chemistry that we hoped had a different ending.

While the show may have ended with Kim Sum killing Yun-o, what if the ending was something different? What if the roles were reversed, or if the police reached before Kim Sum? Let us look into the alternate endings that the two could have had if only things were different.

Yun-o’s Arrest

What if the police reached Yun-o’s secret hideout before Kim Sum and arrested him? Well, this could have been a possibility if Samantha has given his location to the police instead of letting Kim Sum go out to take her revenge because it seems to me like she knew what was going to happen. She also had the person helping Gi-eun working for her which only adds to her desire of wanting his death.

But if she had given his location to the police then there is a possibility that Yun-o could have survived and would have served some jail time before being released years later. This would have also confirmed the possibility of another season or a better ending for the crazy couple as it would be another chance for them to start over. They would be a lot calmer which makes this the best ending for them.

Yun-o Killing Kim Sum

Somebody Ending Explained

The possibility of Yun-o killing Kim Sum was hanging by a thread right until the end of the show because he was never able to understand if she ever really loved him or not. He was aware that she knew he was AGAPE which became a turning point for Kim Sum’s love for him, so he could have wanted to kill her for his own life.

And there is a possibility that he had planned to kill Kim Sum at their hideout and everything was planned but she surprised him instead. He would kill Sum when she came to visit him at the hideout he prepared for him, but this murder would be a special one for him because Sum was special to him.

However, Yun-o is a person who wouldn’t be able to attach himself to her for life so killing her here would be a different experience for him. This would be another tragic end for the couple but with better circumstances for Yun-o.

Yun-o and Kim Sum’s Next Step

The last alternate that might as well be one of the most desired ones for many of us would be for the two to be together forever. The two would really become a killer couple who would never be caught because of Sum’s expertise in tech and Yun-o’s expertise in killing and hiding those bodies in the perfect place.

So not look down on his profession as an architect because he is also an experienced killer and his profession definitely helped him in many ways than we could think. The two could then go around the country or even the world without any worries as they continue to kill people. Yun-o would definitely influence Sum and by adding her Asperger’s syndrome to the mix, she would become one of the worst killers ever.

So while this love story was tragic, we should be happy that this didn’t happen because the consequences would be the worst and not even Mon-wok and Gi-eun would be able to find or stop them.

What other end do you think the two could have had? Let us know in the comments below!
