NieR Automata Ver1.1a Episode 1 Preview: When, Where And How To Watch

NieR Automata Ver1.1a is an upcoming anime adapted from the action role-playing game Nier: Automata developed by PlatinumGames and published by Square Enix. The series is produced by A-1 Picture, who previously also created SAO, Shigatsu and Lycoris Recoil. Ryouji Masuyama of Blend S is the director, and Yukio Nagasaki is the sound director who also worked in Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, Love Live and Yona.

The opening theme song of the series is called escalate, performed by Aimer and antinomy or アンチノミー by Amazarashi will be the ending track.

The anime creators have previously confirmed that the series will have an original story, but the basic premise will remain the same. After humanity from Earth has been driven off by mechanical aliens, a force of android warriors is sent as a last effort by humans to save their home. A war between the raging machines and intelligent androids will commence. The plot will follow the androids 2B, 9S and A2 and their attempt to complete the mission and reclaim the lost land.

NieR Automata Ver1.1a Episode 1 Plot

The first episode of the series is named “or not to [B]e” and will serve as an introductory episode and set the tone by displaying the premise of the core storyline. It will introduce us to the lead characters, android 2B and 9S, who belong to an elite army force called YoRHa. They are the protagonists of the story sent to Earth to fight for humans and drive away the evil machines. As the show progresses, we will witness some amazing action sequences incorporated with the mesmerising background score.

As previously mentioned, we will see the lead protagonists, 2B, voiced by Yui Ishikawa and 9S, voiced by Natsuki Hanae. Other extended characters might include the android A2, Commander, Operators and Pods. Pascal, Lily, Adam and Eve are also expected to make an appearance.

Where to Watch NieR Automata Ver1.1a Episode 1

The episodes will air via Tokyo MX and BS11. Crunchyroll recently announced that they will also be airing the series.
