My Happy Marriage Episode 12 Ending Explained: The twelfth episode premiered on September 20, 2023, on Netflix. My Happy Marriage (My Blissful Marriage) or Watashi no Shiawase na Kekkon (わたしの幸せな結婚) is an upcoming anime series which will be premiering on Netflix. Based on the light novel of the same name written by Akumi Agitogi and illustrated by Tsukiho Tsukioka, it also has a manga adaptation illustrated by Rito Kohsaka.

The live-action film adaptation of the fantasy series was released in Japan on March 2023. Following the story of Miyo, who enters an arranged marriage with a ruthless commander, officially got its own anime series announced to be directed by Takehiro Kubota under Kinema Citrus Studios. Ami Satō, Takahito Ōnishi and Momoka Toyoda are credited as the writers, and Evan Call gives the music.

Licensed under Netflix, the series is scheduled to run for 12 episodes. With an estimated duration of 20-25 minutes each, the episodes are available in English dub and subtitles. The opening theme song is Anata no Soba ni (貴方の側に。, “By Your Side”) by Riria and the ending theme song, Vita Philosophica (ヰタ・フィロソフィカ), is performed by Kashitarō Itō.

In the finale episode, Miyo finally makes use of the power she inherited from the Usuba bloodline. With the help of her Dream Sight, she tries to bring Kiyoka back to his conscious self. However, she had a hard hurdle to win over before getting to him. Although Kiyoka’s body is beside Miyo, his mind and soul are in an unknown plain surrounded by Grotesqueries trying to kill him.

How did Miyo save Kiyoka?

When Miyo entered Kiyoka’s mind, she saw herself back in the Saimori house. Upon going inside, she noticed that a girl similar to her was standing. She realised that the girl was her past self, and she was trying to stop Miyo from saving Kiyoka. However, Miyo did not back down and constantly said that Kiyoka needed her. Her past self was also not giving up and building a barricade made of thorns to stop her. However, Miyo broke the long roots and transformed into a higher being. She gained special powers and healed her inner child, who was crying for help.

Miyo finds Kiyoka’s hair tie in her hands, which helps her in finding him. Kiyoka is both surprised and relieved to meet her, but they have more problems ahead of them. More Grotesqueries appeared in front of them, and Miyo took them down easily with her power. However, they grew more powerful and attacked them all at once. Miyo took charge of the situation and killed every one of them again.

Who was behind the attack?

It is revealed that the Emperor was behind the attack. Takaihito reveals that the Emperor got greedy, and since he was unsure of the future, he decided to cause an attack to secure his position. However, he is removed from the position, and Takaihito promises to bring peace back to the land again.

What happened to Miyo and Kiyoka?

Miyo and Kiyoka went back to the Kudo household and started to lead a normal life again. Miyo stopped having the nightmares and could sleep with no complications again. Moreover, they expressed their love for each other and decided to get married.

  1. One of the warmest anime put out in a long time. It kept me entertained and on my feet looking forward to the next episode. Toward the end it had my emotions on a roller coaster going strong. I loved having two strong characters and Miyo finally realized what love means whether friend or family.
