Clock Ending Explained: Does Ella Get Pregnant or Dies at the End?

Hulu’s Clock ending is something that has left people frustrated, confused and terrified. The psychological, horror, and science fiction is written and directed by Alexis Jacknow, marking the man’s debut. The film is produced by Leal Naim under the banner of 20th Digital Studio. The music is by Stephen Lukach with cinematographer Martim Viam as part of the team alongside Alexandra Amick as the editor for the film.

The cast of the film includes Dianna Agron as Ella Patel, Jay Ali as Aidan Patel, Melora Hardin as Dr. Elizabeth Simmons and Saul Rubinek as Joseph. It has a runtime of approximately 2 hours.

Clock Ending Explained

Towards the end of the Clock movie, we see that Ella has destroyed the grandfather clock and confesses it to Adian, who comforts her and ultimately the two start having sex. However, because Ella was supposed to wait for three weeks until the implant and it was actually just two, we see Aiden cut his penis on something inside her. This results in Ella rushing to help her husband when she sees the bag with the clinic’s symbol on it and, Adien confesses that he has not only known about the clinic all along but, was actually the one who asked Ella’s doctor to suggest it in the first place.

Adian did this to give Ella the choice of having a child. But, Ella just turns out to be angry at this revelation and goes to the clinic and asks Dr. Simmons to remove her implant. Dr. Simmons does not as it would make Ella not have a child. The desire to have a child is an illusion, Ella realizes and she gruesomely fights it off. She rips off her own implant and runs away in a getaway car. However, she is soon followed by the police.

Adian calls her to inform them that he is the one who has called the police as Ella did not destroy the grandfather clock but, ripped her father apart under the influence of drugs, killing him. This is shown in the form of a flashback. Traumatized by everything, Ella drives the car off the edge of a cliff and the assumption made is that she has died/killed herself.

Clock ending shows Ella on a rock and fishes with tiny legs crawling out of the water. This is a reminder of how her father described her near-death experience to be, where he mentioned the ancestors being like fishes crawling out of water solidifying the fact that Ella is dying and what we see at the end is the vision she gets before she passes away.
