Destined With You Episode 16 Reactions: The South Korean fantasy romance drama, (이 연애는 불가항력) stars SF9’s Rowoon and Jo Bo-ah in lead roles. The supporting cast also includes Ha Jun, and Yura. The JTBC series is directed by Nam Ki-hoon and written by Noh Ji-sul.

The series revolves around Lee Hong-jo (Jo Bo-ah), a civil servant and Jang Shin-yu (Rowoon), a lawyer who come face to face under unexpected circumstances. Hong-jo is revealed as the owner of an old wooden box that has been sealed over 300 years ago which contains a forbidden book that has a connection to Shin-yu. He is suffering from a mysterious illness and its cure lies in the book. Soon, they both realise that the key to saving Shin-yu from the curse is in the hands of Hong-jo. Amid the same, a romance blossoms between the two.

As for the cast, Jo Bo-ah recently starred in 2023’s Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938 as Nam Ji-ah whereas Rowoon starred in 2022’s Tomorrow. Also, Ha Jun starred in Missing: The Other Side Season 2 as Shin Joon-ho and Yura previously played the role of Chae Yoo-jin in Forecasting Love and WeatherDestined With You airs on JTBC at the 10.30 PM slot on Wednesday-Thursday.

The finale came with a happy ending and it has fascinated the viewers. In the 16th episode, Hong-jo tricks Mr. Na by pretending to be drugged and manages to escape from the cave. She calls the police for help, and they arrest Mr. Na. Hong-jo goes to the hospital to recover as she got poisoned by Na who believed they can be together in the afterlife.

When she gets better, Shin-yu’s parents visit her and during the visit, Shin-yu reveals the shaman’s dream that shows they will have a daughter together, which surprises everyone, especially Shin-yu’s dad. But in the end, it is revealed that the Shaman’s dream meant that Shin-yu’s parents would have a girl child.

A video of Nayeon bullying Hong-jo at the hotel goes viral, causing a lot of trouble for the Mayor. Additionally, Jae-kyung exposes the Mayor and Hyeon-seo’s illegal activities and corruption. Shin-yu backs up Jae-kyung and gets him out of the mess. Nayeon gets arrested for being Na’s ally. Then Jae-kyung moves out of his house as he’s offered work in the Blue House. Meanwhile, Hong-jo’s colleagues Eun-yeong and Seo-gu get married.

The show ends with a sweet moment where Shin-yu and Hong-jo decide to live together and even get engaged. They bury the spell box, thanking it for bringing them together. In the final scene, we see Shin-yu in his past life, burying the spell box, and closing the story nicely. As the main couple are engaged and they’re now off to their next milestone, viewers have been posting their tweets about the wholesome ending and the main leads’ extreme chemistry.
