Chief Detective 1958 Episode 9 Recap

Young-han gets involved in a previously neglected case of a missing woman and finds out that the owner of the factory she worked in was involved in her disappearance. However, Do-seok saves the man who is part of the Tennis Boys Club, which is a group of four men who are from influential families. Young-han is not ready to give up on this case and right then, the corpse of the missing woman is found.

Upon knowing all the things the woman had to go through before her death, including being induced with opium, Young-han is even more raged and eager to take the perpetrator to prison. However, he soon realised that there may be more than just one person involved in the case.

Young-han begins to gather evidence and can influence the owner of the men’s meeting spot to give a testimony. The owner gives her testimony along with evidence of the men’s cruelty. This gives Young-han sufficient evidence, but when he leaves to capture the men, he finds them on the route having been involved in a car accident.

Three of the men are involved in the accident out of which two have died on the spot while the third is sent to the hospital. Meanwhile, the last and worst of them all is suspected of having caused this accident. This is soon proved when Young-han instigates the man with his words and the opium found in the wrecked car which makes the man anxious.

However, Do-seok covers for him and releases the information to the media that there was no opium but salt found in the car. Furthermore, the driver who caused the accident is found, thus, clearing the man of any suspicion. Unit 1 is angered by this and labels Do-seok compliance of the man in this case. They then head to keep an eye on the injured man and soon find Hee-sung in the hospital when news of the man having woken up spreads.

Sang-sun and Ho-jeong then divert the guards’ attention while Young-han tries to enter through the window. Right then, his makeshift rope breaks and he is thrown to the ground.
