Two days were all the Quincies needed to return and decimate the Soul Reapers in Bleach Thousand Year Blood War Part 2 Episode 2. Let’s see if the Soul Reapers can fight them back this time in this review!
Bleach Thousand Year Blood War Part 2 Episode 2 Overview

What is there to be said about Bleach that hasn’t been said before? It is one of the most popular anime in the West of Japan of all time and is considered a part of the Big Three, a trio of anime widely recognised as having been a part of popularising the medium of anime. The show is back after a hiatus of nine years, as its first run ended in 2013. The newest season of the show is being developed by Studio Pierrot, the studio behind the original series, as well as other giants such as Naruto and Tokyo Ghoul.
The second part of the final arc of Bleach is directed by Tomohisa Taguchi, who has been involved in the productions of Persona 4 The Animation and Twin Star Exorcists, and the series is based on a manga written by Tite Kubo. This episode is also referred to in original Japanese as Bleach Sennen Kessen-hen Ketsubetsu-tan Episode 2 (Bleach Sennen Kessen hen Ketsubetsu tan Episode 2) and Bleach TYBW Part 2 Episode 2. Bleach Thousand Year Blood War Part 2 Episode 2 Review- Peace From Shadows

The story is moving at a frightening pace right now, especially because it is currently playing with its own constraints. We know the next line of Yhwach’s poem and how it details him regaining his true power in 9 days from the first attack. One would assume that he would make the Sternritters wait those 9 days out before launching another all-out attack at the Soul Reapers. One would be wrong if they assumed that, for Yhwach decided that waiting two days and letting Uryu into the party was enough, and it was time to ravage the Seireitei some more.

The captains all fought in an admirable fight again, especially those who had lost their bankais in Soi Fon and Toshiro. Their battles against Bazz-B and HG8 were very fun and animated well. However, the Soul Society is supposed to have 13 captains and lieutenants. Using the same ones again who were involved in the first attack makes very little sense, especially since they would be fighting with less power than they had previously, not more. Where are the others? Where are Shinji, Rose, and Kensei?

We got some new fight previews here as Mayuri stared down Askin in the delightfully creepy way that only he can manage. However, unironically, my favourite part of the episode was the reveal of Haschwalth’s full name- Jugram Haschwalth. As all manga readers are aware, he is an extraordinarily important character in this arc, and his story is expected to play a big role later on in the series. Leaving the future be for now, he is just an extremely cool-looking character whose icy exterior gives him an aura of power and importance that almost no other Sternritter has managed so far.

The Sternritters had a good showing in this episode. Bazz B’s fight with Toshiro perfectly accentuated the contrast between the two, and Jugram took his chance to be very mean to Nanao, which was fun. Something about Bleach that I have always loved is that the minor characters also have very distinct personalities that make them stick to your mind even if you haven’t seen them for years, and such was the case for Omaeda in Bleach Thousand Year Blood War Part 2 Episode 2.

If Part 1 was about the immediate impact and the shock and horror of Quincies attacking in the first place, it looks like Part 2 is about preparation. Not only is this not the final time Quincies will attack, but more than half of the eligible participants aren’t even in the conversation at the moment. This season will build up to what are sure to be extremely action-packed and entertaining fights and reveals. It is doing an admirable job of retaining interest by having episodes like this one today. It wasn’t the show’s best episode, but it will be instrumental in building up to it.
Verdict
Bleach Thousand Year Blood War Part 2 Episode 2 was a very fun episode that saw the Soul Reapers go into deeper trouble than they were already in. The show has started a slow build towards something exciting, and it will be interesting to see how it gets there.
