Still Shining Episode 7 Recap

The 7th episode starts with Tae-seo spotting Seong-chan and avoiding him. He then keeps calling Eun-a and finally spots her on the street. Over there, he comforts her, stating that Seong-chan has left and she needn’t worry about it. Eun-a, however, asks about the other girl who came with Tae-seo, and he explains about the help she provided in saving his grandmother. Eun-a feels at peace and shares her concerns about the guesthouse issue, explaining that Seong-chan is merely a business partner. However, Tae-seo doesn’t find Seong-chan reliable after seeing him chase Eun-a at the railway station.

Timeskip, Eun-a agrees to check the resolved contract of her guesthouse, and she checks the place out with Seong-chan. She updates Tae-seo about it, but he feels sad about it. He, on the other hand, takes care of his grandmother and Hui-seo but waits for Eun-a’s text. Eun-a checks the guesthouse, and nostalgia hits her; however, she states that she won’t return there but will stay in Seoul and just manage the guesthouse. Seong-chan tries to knock sense into her, but she doesn’t bother.

Later that night, Eun-a surprises Tae-seo by opening his apartment’s door from inside the home and giving him a warm hug. The two discuss the future, and they decide to stay together and rule out places to figure out where they can choose to live forever. The following day, Seong-chan informs about a guest named Ga-on who has booked the guesthouse. This prompts Eun-a to visit the guesthouse again, clean it up and prepare it for the booking.

Seeing her there, Seong-chan scoffs and wishes she’d come back. Though she initially declines, she decides to stay there one night to find out where her heart lies. The next day, she leaves and meets Tae-seo, holds his hands and says that Seoul seems to be their best place. However, in Tae-seo’s heart, worries about his grandparents and younger brother surround him, and he knows Yeonwoo is the place he desires to live. But it’s high time he takes care of himself, right?

One day, when Tae-seo visits Yeon-woo and spends time with his grandpa, he notices a taxi pass by. He then checks Eun-a’s late father’s place and sees So-hyeon there. As the two talk about how she left for Hawaii and how Eun-a’s father died, she mentions the guesthouse. When she mentions Seong-chan and how he took care of Eun-a since December 2020 (the time when Eun-a and Tae-seo broke up), she reveals that Eun-a and Seong-chan briefly dated and broke up.

This tears Tae-seo up as he now knows his intuitions were right. He immediately goes to Seoul and in front of Eun-a’s shared apartment, he calls her and tells her to rule out Teongyeong (guest house town), and Eun-a stands frozen after hearing what he just said because she’s already packed her suitcase and is standing in front of her guest house.

Still Shining Episode 7 Review

The series continues to keep things messy but also emotional. Tae-seo seems to be protective not just on his family but also of Eun-a. He doesn’t trust Seong-chan a bit, but also doesn’t realise that Eun-a is adult enough to handle herself. Eun-a is torn between her past and the present as her guesthouse issue keeps popping up. She wonders whether it is best to pursue her dream or sit beside Tae-seo.

The episode shifts into total tension when Tae-seo learns that Seong-chan is Eun-a’s ex. He is shattered to know that Seong-chan is the reason why Eun-a broke up with him. Tae-seo asks Eun-a to give up on the guesthouse town, but little does he realise he is clipping her wings. What will Eun-a and Tae-seo do now? We’ll find it out soon.
