My Hero Academia has ended its main story, and some fans felt it was not enough. According to many, the story could have delved a bit more into the lives of all the older main characters and showcased what would have happened when they began their own heroic journey. Not only that, but the anime also stayed away from animating the last chapter of the manga, making the show unfinished in its truest sense.

Deadman Wonderland

Deadman Wonderland is one of the best dark shonen anime that hooked fans with its unique premise, good animation, and unrestrained gore. It is a one-of-a-kind show precisely because a classic shonen series tends to avoid too much bloodshed, and Deadman Wonderland did not. Here, the story follows Ganta, who gets dragged into a messy situation after his entire class is killed in front of him, and the blame lands on him.

The series goes on to churn out some hard-hitting twists, but everything falls flat when the conclusion comes. The season concludes without ending the main story, and the series never gets a second season, infuriating fans.  

Tokyo Ghoul

No series suffered a greater misfortune than Tokyo Ghoul because of how tragic its fall from grace was. Tokyo Ghoul is hands-down one of the best horror action anime ever, and it got a brilliant first season. It showcased the story of Kaneki, who turns into a human-eating monster after meeting someone who was supposed to be the love of his life.

The story could have become a massive hit, but sadly, the later seasons got so bad in quality that the ending became a disappointment.

Akame ga Kill!

The issue with Akame ga Kill! is a bit different because the anime in itself starts out fine. However, what it does along the way is alter key details about the plot and changes the ending entirely from the source material. This obviously did not sit well with fans who discovered how much better and fulfilling the manga ending was.

Here, the storyline follows Tatsumi, who comes to a place in search of good luck, but reality is far from different, and he learns that the hard way.  

The Promised Neverland

The Promised Neverland is one of those anime whose glorious start makes fans question how it fell so hard in the end. The story talks about an orphanage where children spend their days happily. From time to time, one lucky child gets picked by a family, while the others await their turn. They spend their time playing and goofing around, but they are not allowed outside of the border that protects them from the unknown.

The Promised Neverland should have been a massive success, but sadly, the second season turns out so bad that it takes the entire franchise down with it.

Attack on Titan

Attack on Titan is a debatable entry here because, for many, the ending was perfect, while others criticise it vehemently. The story revolves around a world where giant creatures, called Titans, roam and feed on humans. The only way to stop them is to live in walled cities, away from their path.

However, one day, something horrifying happens, and the hero, Eren, realizes the need to wipe out all the titans once and for all. The ending was a bittersweet one whose complexity incited many fan theories and comments, which has not stopped to this day.
