Wrong Side of the Tracks Season 2 Review: Slow, Dull and Boring

Wrong Side of the Tracks season 2 broke certain speculations, but despite the claims regarding the show being too dull, they’re back again with the same flavour. After the shocking events of season 1, Irene and Tirso are back again and in this season, Irene is keeping her pregnancy a secret from everyone. However, when she discloses the truth to Tirso, he goes on a mission to get revenge for everything that his granddaughter has gone through but will that be the best course of action for the family?

Wrong Side of the Tracks Season 2 Review

The series starts with Tirso missing his granddaughter, Nelson selling drugs, and Irene dancing passionately. Sorry, but the dance moves were a little funny. Now that the main three people are introduced, a shocking comeback happens. Ezequiel gets out of jail, unlike the assumption that he might not be a major part of season 2. Fortunately, he is again one of the key characters in finding someone called The Ghost! What about the Phantom from season 1? You’ll figure it out as you watch it.

Apparently, in this season, we will see Nelson’s evil side that’s created by his new girlfriend, Nata. Will Nelson reunite with Irene? That’s a question you will get an answer to. However, Nelson’s role in the first few episodes will give you the ick. It definitely pissed me off. Overall, Nata and Nelson are a couple who use each other for their selfish benefits.

Moving on, the series, similar to season 1, had unnecessary scenes. It again went so slow and felt drab. Moreover, Irene’s new passion and unexpected decision to keep “something” seems perplexing. Honey, why would you?—this will be the question you will embark on. Apart from this, there isn’t any character development in Irene. She is still in love with Nelson despite seeing how he treats her and witnessing him and Nata kissing each other. Girl, come on.

As expected, the plot is around drugs, but I don’t understand why we need a series on these. What are they trying to educate the viewers? The dark side of the drug world in a Spanish neighbourhood? Well, thanks to the series, the viewers can look at another culture but apart from that, nothing is saucy.

The concept of a war veteran and his two friends, what are they, the three musketeers? Seems pale. The anguish of the grandfather is all nice to watch, but man, go and communicate with your granddaughter well and well.

Honestly, the rape assault story that returns back is pretty triggering. It’s sad to know that the scenes portrayed in the series are indeed happening in reality. This particular aspect and the fight to find the culprits carried by Amanda are the only intriguing things about this show.

Final Thoughts

I’m still wondering what is the X factor of the series because nothing is captivating me. it’s just 8 one-hour episodes focusing on drugs, relationships and a neighbourhood. We also have romantic scenes that are totally unnecessary. Various interesting series and movies about drugs like Breaking Bad, Narcos and such, have so much flavour to them. It educates people about drugs and their side effects and has captivating points like humour and a cool duo. This Spanish drama — it’s too dramatic. That’s it. Simple as that.

  1. I thought it was excellent acting and captivating story. The reviewer who thought it was dull and boring must have watched another program

  2. Very poorly written review of Wrong Side of the Tracks. Perhaps you may want to try out Grammar ly when writing your reviews. The storyline and acting were first rate, aside from the insufferable Irene.
