The Mandalorian Season 3 Episode 1: The Apostate

The Mandalorian is back with a third season; all we can say is the story will now be unpredictable. Given how most of the arcs have been finished the season before, this season is a blank palette to thread on.

The Apostate opened with a segment of The Armourer initiating a ceremony for a new recruit for the Mandalorians. The ceremony goes well and fine until it does not anymore. However, to save the day we have our titular character aka Din Djarin along with Grogu in a known foreign land sailing through. But, he is in exile and the apostate and, although he does whatever he is capable of, he might not be welcome still.

That is until he provided the Armourer with an irresistible piece of information that turns out to be Djarin’s only path to redemption. Thus, the storyline engages us in some reunions much waited for. Of course, Grogu and Mando being together in the first scene itself is a surprise that pleasantly blesses us but, we also get to meet Greef Karga and, try to bring back CG-11. Hardships sure follow our heroes on their way but, their journey to Manda’lore is something that only smells like the start of something new.

The Mandalorian Season 3 Episode 1: Final Thoughts

Overall, the first episode of The Mandalorian Season 3 felt like a breezy touch and a faint buildup to something huge coming our way. The episode was short and did not really waste time in its redemption-reunion arc playing out, giving us ample amount of time to understand where the new story is heading towards. The show continues to be funny in its own way (For instance, the entire segment with Anzellans).

One doubt that can cloud everyone’s heads at this point can be understanding the role Bo-Katan will play in this season. The dark saber rests with Mando and Bo-Katan has a tone that obeys with disobedience it seems. Thus, she could very well turn out to be the new villain none of us saw coming, right? The adorable Grogu and the humane Mando continue to warm hearts in this season too.
