What happens after Coco and Agott got caught?

It was apparent that the Knights Moralis would have erased Coco and Agott’s memories had they not been interrupted by other students of Qifrey. Not only that, Qifrey himself comes and tells the Knights Moralis not to touch his students without any proof of wrongdoing. Easthies also checked whether Coco is the one who completely destroyed the landmark and found no credible evidence against her. That is why they had to let Coco go. However, this does not mean Easthies will not return, as he is very suspicious of Coco and the effect her magic will have later.

What does Qifrey do after the Knights leave?

In this segment, we see the very unique brush of Olruggio. He can effectively burn symbols on rocks and hard surfaces with his brush. He fixes the bridge that somehow makes the river flow again. On the other hand, Qifrey realises that the ink that Coco used to draw her symbol did not go deplete one bit. This was very uncommon, and he decided to investigate it in depth.

What does Qifrey do after that?

Qifrey takes Coco to Nolnoa’s shop, from where they can get her a custom-made brush. Here, Nolnoa realises that the ink Coco used has been tampered with, and he was absolutely right. Qifrey tested it out by drawing magic on paper, and it gave off a massive glow.

What was Coco doing in the meantime?

Coco and Tartah right away form a connection when he offers to dress her wound. That is when we get to know that Tartah has great knowledge of magic but is unable to be a witch because he suffers from a disease that makes him unable to see colours properly. He snaps at Coco without meaning to, and we learn that he’s also someone who has a troubled relationship with magic.

What does Qifrey want to do with the ink?

Qifrey excitedly used the ink because he wanted to find the people who did this to Coco. In his mind, he finally came closer to the culprits and might even be able to locate them somehow through this clue. Not only that, but the ink was so potent that even from a small amount, immense power came out. Nolnoa even said that something like this should not exist in the real world. He even wanted to inform the Great Hall, but Qifrey denied that idea right away.

What worked and what did not work?

The last bit was absolutely insane because I did not think that Qifrey would also have a dark side. He most likely erased the memory of Nolnoa so that he would not disclose their findings. Most of the time, this series stays too safe, but this time, it did not and showed something different, which is why I like this episode very much.
