What does Qifrey teach Coco and his other students?

We get to see the young witches learning magic while having a blast outside. Here, Qifrey brought them to the highlands, where they learned to use magic for more practical things. This is also why Coco manages to knock Qifrey out when she uses a spell to gather fruits. They tried to think about ways to work around the spell, and Agott found an answer to that. Others then go to her to learn from her directly. This produces a playful moment between everyone.

What information do we get about the exams?

Qifrey claims that magic exists to make people happy, which is why the witches ensured that the students of magic also do not suffer in the process. Thus, they turned the magic tests into outer-world adventures. The first part is called the consent of the crown, then comes the Knight’s loyalty, after that we have the gatekeepers’ question, then we have the Queen’s blessing, following which comes the last exam called the Sage’s teaching.

These make up the witch’s pentagram tests. Apparently, the 4th exam makes one a full-fledged witch, and they graduate from their master’s. A witch can also challenge the Tower of Tomes after completing the third test. The final test is where a witch can take in apprentices of their own.

What kind of dream does Coco have?

Coco has a very bad dream where she sees her mother. But she only blames Coco for her current situation and reprimands her. Not only that, but Coco also hears others complaining about her. Then one of the Brimmed Cap witches directly tells her that it was her fault behind everything bad. After that, Coco just wakes up in a panic.

Why did Qifrey want the ink that Coco had?

Qifrey tried to pick apart the ink so that he could get to the person who made it. He explains how it was a very important magic that was lost forever. However, he did not think that the Brimmed Cap witches would know how to use that spell. The moment he tried to pick it apart, it attacked Qifrey and completely drowned him. One Brimmed Cap witch, who gave the ink to Coco, also arrives in front of Qifrey to personally destroy the ink.

What happens between Coco and Agott?

Coco finally drew a design on the shoe, making it usable for Agott. She then gifts it to Agott, who starts to question her intention. But before things could get serious, Coco just fell asleep. But she was not just asleep, and Qifrey had to take her to the hospital because her fever kept rising. When Qifrey was desperately searching for a hospital, Tartah came to help him out. However, he also asks Qifrey for some help.

What worked and what did not work?

Absolutely love the storytelling of this episode, and the sudden appearance of the Brimmed Cap witch was unexpected. Things are finally getting better between Coco and Agott, which was good to see. There was nothing in particular that I did not like.
