Where did the witches go in such a hurry?

A man comes to Qifrey’s doorstep to ask for help. He lets them know that a cart got turned over in a river, where the bridge snapped. This jeopardised the lives of many people, among whom was also a kid called Custas. Here, Agott becomes frustrated because she was told not to interfere with the rescue operation. First of all, normal humans must not see the witches perform any kind of magic. Thus, whatever the witches must do, it should be in absolute secrecy.

Why was Agott frustrated?

Agott was frustrated because she wanted to prove her worth, and she could not do so because Qifrey continuously kept her away from harm. It is very apparent that she lacks any experience and is far too emotional to actually think rationally. This is why, when she again asks to let her help, Olruggio scolds her and tells her to think about what magic is all about rather than just thinking of proving her value.

Did they manage to rescue those who were stuck?

Yes, Qifrey and Olruggio managed to rescue the people stuck in the cart. Then, they went to a different place to see if the situation was worse in those other areas. However, they leave Coco and Agott with the people behind so that the people do not go near the river anymore and get healed. However, that is when Custas tries to go to the river again to fetch something that was still in the cart.

What happens after that?

As expected, Custas gets into an accident that drags him and Coco down the cliff. Custas loses his consciousness, and Coco manages to relatively save herself from being swept away by the river. That is when Agott thinks that now is her chance to show how she, too, is useful. However, she becomes scared of everyone’s expectations, and we realise she must have been bullied when she was young.

Were Coco and Custas saved?

Yes, with the help of Agott, Coco performed a magic, and they were saved pretty fast. Here, Agott cast a simple spell to distract the onlookers so that they do not see what kind of magic Coco is performing. Coco would have had to draw in front of their eyes, and that is not something that was allowed.

Was everything okay by the end?

Witch Hat Atelier Episode 7 Review

No, everything was not solved in the end as the Knights Moralis made their grand entry. These witches are very strict and scary, as they ensure that no one breaks the strict rules prevalent among all the witches. They capture both Agott and Coco, and in the end, try to punish Coco for doing magic.

What worked and what did not work?

The storyline is pretty good in this anime, and the animation is absolutely gorgeous. However, the biggest issue with this series is its pace, which is a bit too slow.
