Villainess Level 99 Episode 7 Review and Recap: An Unlikely Friendship

There’s good news for the people who were actively and eagerly waiting for some romance in this anime. Our stoic villainess, who is very much not in tune with others or her own emotions, has finally gotten herself someone who is romantically interested in her. But romance is not the only field where Yumiella thrived, she even managed to get herself a female friend. However, this friend is an unexpected one. She might bring more problems to Yumiella’s life than peace, but still, it is good to see our heroine experiencing life like a normal girl.
From the very beginning, the only thing that has been in Yumiella’s mind is to survive the game. She did not even think that she would get someone to support her and only wished to lead an unproblematic life. This is also why, when anyone approached her, she rebuffed their attempts to make friends with her, either consciously or unconsciously. But this time around, even though Yumiella tried her best to keep herself away from problems and problem-causing people, she still gets entangled with some interesting characters.
But it is not just Yumiella who is experiencing changing emotions. Patrick is also getting closer to Yumiella without even realising it for a long time. The fact that they get the chance to dance together and Patrick leads our heroine in a regal fashion tells us how they are literally made for each other. But because of Yumiella’s dense disposition, this couple is definitely going to experience many hardships in their relationship.
This episode also dives into the mind of our heroine and shows us just how deeply she feels about the original Yumiella. She understands if she had not been levelling up, she might have lived the same depressing and tragic life as the original character and died a sad death. Regrettably, Yumiella lacks the ability to feel just how heartbreaking this thought is. But, even though Yumiella does not recognise her own pitiable fate, Patrick is there to realise the gravity of such a miserable destiny and support her accordingly.

Verdict
Today’s episode was cute, fun and romantic. We obviously did not see any flashy battles or Yumiella flexing her powers to crush the egos of all the side characters. But nonetheless, this was an entertaining and enjoyable episode that you will love to watch.
Though the behaviour of the 3 male characters of the original game is still pretty annoying, you do get the courage to ignore them after some point. Hopefully, just like the main leads, their characters will also develop in the future.
