Under the Queen’s Umbrella Episode 8 Reactions: Weekend Seong-nam Praise Train Has Sailed Yet Again

Under the Queen’s Umbrella Episode 8 (슈룹) was one of the much-needed subdued comical interludes for the fans to enjoy a laid back weekend binge session. As the princes are now out on their respective expeditions to bring in the men assigned to them by the king as part of the contest, we witnessed an unlikely duo of Grand Prince Seong-nam (Moon Sang-min) and Prince Bo-geum (Kim Min-ki) ending up on the same page somehow despite them faring at the far opposite ends of the personality and personal choices spectrums.

Their coming together may be an unsavory event for the two of them but it was definitely a change in pace for the overall show and a likeable dysfunctional pairing for the fans. Other than this pair of the two starkly opposite brothers forced to carry out their assigned duty together, the other bubbly moment enjoyed by the fans remains to be the newly found ship of Seong-nam and Cheong-ha (Oh Ye-ju). In a satisfying reunion, the two have finally found their way back to each other, possibly igniting the chances of a brand new romance brewing in the mix.

As far as the contest is concerned, Grand Prince Muan (Yoon Sang-hyeon) now has a new issue of his own to deal with, concerning his old flame, while the youngest princes in the lot – Grand Prince Il-yeong (Park Ha-jun) and Prince Ho-dong (Hong Jae-min) are negotiating their terms with the whole contest scenario. The viewers are happy to see the two out in the open, going after things other than what the royal confines have them stuck with otherwise.

Hwa-ryeong (Kim Hye-soo) always has a ton of mysteries to solve but for the first time in a long time we saw the Queen smiling bright and wide as she left the Royal Consorts with no choice but to accompany her in putting up embroidery pieces so as to keep them all in line. Her witty response to the situation had the fans enjoying every bit of it as they loved to see her rejoicing in it too.

The audience also let out a chuckle with how the episode assigned titles to each of the princes, detailing their characters’ dispositions succinctly in a few words. Speaking of princes, the viewers are also keen on saving Prince Sim-so (Moon Sung-hyun) themselves at this point as Consort Go is keeping up with her delusional ideas, failing to see the hard and harsh impact of the contest on her son, for which he’s clearly neither prepared nor interested in.
