Under the Queen’s Umbrella (슈룹) is a historical Korean drama series directed by Kim Hyung-shik, and stars Kim Hye-soo as Queen Im Hwa-ryeong, Kim Hae-sook as Queen Dowager, and Choi Won-young as King Lee-ho. Others joining the show include Moon Sang-min as Grand Prince Sung-nam, Bae In-hyuk as Crown Prince, Yoo Seon-ho as Grand Prince Gye-seong, and Kang Chan-hee as Prince Ui-seong alongside other cast members.
Envisioning the position taken on by the women residing in the Joseon era, this Korean drama will take us through the struggles and challenges faced by them, especially when concerned with the questions of the throne. While the kings are often seen taking the lead in most kingdoms, women are left behind to cater to their needs or pay attention to the upbringing of their potential future heirs.
The series takes on tvN’s Saturday-Sunday 09.10 PM timeslot previously occupied by Little Women.

Seong-nam begins his crown prince duties while Hwa-ryung starts her search for the perfect crown princess. However, the queen dowager is not ready to see the two happy and is ready to take them down by promoting the perfect candidate for chaos. On the other hand, Hwa-ryung needs to know what happened to the previous crown prince and her search finally begins.

The completion moves forward and while the support given to Ui-seong and Bo-geum divides, the queen dowager throws Bo-geum out of the competition and now wholeheartedly supports Ui-seong. On the other hand, Hwa-ryung makes a move to remind the scholar of their duties which soon work the way she wanted it to.
However, the ministers are not ready to give up and promote the rumour of Seung-nam’s paternity which is soon proven by Hwa-ryung when she reveals what happened during that time. On the other hand, she also helps So-yong and Bo-geum out of their misery and gives the latter a new direction.
