Alongside her, we will see Ernesto Alterio, Dario Grandinetti, Domingo Peron, Diego Velazquez, Francesc Orella, Diego Cremonesi as Eduardo Arancibia, Ivan Moschner, Gabriela Ferrero, Hector Diaz amongst others. The series consists of seven episodes, each with a runtime ranging from 40-45 minutes, approximately.
Santa Evita is bold enough to tell the story of Argentina’s First Lady out loud. The influence Eva Peron aka Evita had during her life and death on the people of Argentina is commendable. The disappearance of Evita’s corpse after her death has and will always remain a crucial point in history when President Peron was overthrown by the military coup and had to escape. But, little do people know what happens to Evita’s corpse by the end of it all.

Santa Evita Ending Explained: The Finality of Eva Peron’s Corpse
It was in the year 1971 when Evita’s body was finally decided to be exhumed and flown to Spain, to her husband Juan Peron. In the series, we see this news arrives at the doorstep of the renowned journalist Mariano Vazquez, who sets out on his own mission to find out more about the corpse.
It was shortly after Evita’s death, as plans of constructing a memorial in her name were in-progress, that her embalmed body was put on display in her former office in the CGT building for about two years. Before Evita’s monument could be completed Peron’s government was overthrown in a military coup- The Rovlucion Libertadora in 1955. Although Peron fled the country, he was unable to secure Evita’s corpse.
With a military dictatorship in power and Peronism banned from Argentina, the whereabouts of Evita’s remains after being removed from display became a mystery for 16 long years. In 1971, the military found the remains buried in a crypt in Italy under the name of ‘Maria Maggi’. The body had been damaged to a great extent by then including compressions to Evita’s face and disfigurement of her feet.

Her body was then flown to Spain to Juan Peron. With his third wife, Isabel, in tow, Peron decided to keep Evita’s corpse in his dining room, apparently. Peron returned to Argentina in 1973 and became the president once again. But, after his death, a terrorist group stole Pedro Eugenio Aramburu’s corpse and pressured Peron’s then-wife, the elected vice-president Isabel to give Evita’s body in return for Aramburu’s.
Eva Perón’s body was returned to Argentina to be displayed beside her husband’s corpse. On its arrival, the terrorist group unceremoniously dumped Aramburu’s corpse on the streets of Buenos Aires. Later on, Evita’s corpse was buried in the Duarte family tomb in La Recoleta Cemetery, Buenos Aires. This was before the Argentine government took elaborate measures, later on, to secure the body of Eva Peron in a tomb.
According to last reports by BBC news, in October 1976, Eva Peron’s body was taken from Los Olivos and placed in her family’s mausoleum in Recoleta Cemetery in Buenos Aires. This is said to be Evita’s final resting place.
