What happens when Subaru and others fall into the pit?

After Subaru becomes conscious, he finds himself getting forcefully woken up by Ram. She lets him know that they are the only two people who are estranged from the main group, and now they will have to look for others in this broken and old dungeon. The moment Subaru wakes up, he becomes very agitated because he cannot find Rem anywhere. He becomes too fidgety and starts yelling, only to be stopped and reprimanded by Ram. She lets him know that she is also worried about her sister, but panicking will not help in their situation.

However, they were not alone as Anastasia also joined them.

What was the dynamic in this group?

Subaru becomes a fodder for Rem to constantly criticise. Subaru gets told by Anastasia that by fighting with him, Rem is actually keeping her head cool. Apparently, she became very distraught when she could not find her sister, and it is a show of bravado from her side now that she can talk back to someone.

What was their first hurdle?

The first problem comes when the way gets split into left and right. So Subaru convinces the group that they should go right, and there they actually find a wall which quickly crumbles away to give them a path when Subaru touches the wall. Even Patrasche started to growl at the way.

However, Subaru convinces the animal to listen to him anyway.

What happened after they went this way?

Right from the beginning, it becomes clear that this way will be bad news for Subaru. First of all, the long path makes him lose his cool, and then he starts to bicker with Ram, who also loses her cool. Then, they fight, and Subaru literally chokes her.

To stop them, Anastasia stabs Ram and Subaru does nothing to stop her.  Not only that, following this, Anastasia gets cut in half, and Subaru completely throws her dangling body away. He then leaves that place in a hurry without caring for the dead.

Was this all a dream?

No, this was not at all a dream, as Subaru actually did all these things, and later he gets killed by Patrasche, who bites his head off. Thankfully, this brings him back to the time when he was woken up by Ram.

What happens after Subaru wakes up again?

This time, Subaru chooses the left side, believing that it will be a better choice than what he chose before. Here, he gets to a place where there are lots of stairs and the roof is low.

However, things are not great as he is thrown into a pit against an extremely weird-looking creature.

What worked in this episode, and what did not?

The unexpected death and the sudden inclusion of violence are definitely one of the strongest points of this episode. It takes you by surprise, and even though you know how death comes very randomly in this anime, you are not prepared for it.

Despite all of this, it is pretty repetitive, and everyone knows that Subaru will be fine even after dying anyway.

  1. Complaining that it’s repetitive and we know that he will be fine is so stupid. He will not be fine you think dying again again wouldn’t do anything to him. Critic review my a*# literally called Ram -> Rem twice. What kind of Critic review is this

  2. Trash review just hating cause you ain’t got nothing else to do. The episode was amazing well adapted and beautiful. You don’t even know the characters mixing rem and ram?!?? Go larp some other show

  3. Your analysis was very straightforward and precise, however, there is one thing to highlight. Saying that the deaths make the series repetitive because they have no effect on Subaru is a misconception, considering that, besides the series being based on this, his attempt to think and seek change so that things like those don’t happen again is noticeable. What could actually be classified as a repetitive death would be the path of greed, however this is not the case.

  4. Forgot to mention the reason for the sudden spiral into madness, the miasma.

Also, you mistook Ram for Rem in this review.

Furthermore, the scene showcased the inner insecurities of these characters that they hide deep in their psyche.

Overall, your review lacks proper understandinf

  5. LARPING bitch bro it was miasma and not some loosing his cool do your research more motherfucker u cant even fucking rate well fuck you fuck you aura stairs God number #1 in my heart
