Pseudo Harem Episode 5 Recap

Today’s episode introduces a new character, Aya, Rin’s adorable younger sister. Aya quickly wins over Eiji, who treats her like his own sister. There’s a heartwarming scene where the protagonists, along with Aya, share a moment that makes them feel like a real family. We also see a playful, lazy side of Rin, who just wants to be pampered by her senpai.

The episode then shifts to the classic summer vacation setting, where high schoolers usually go out to have fun. Unfortunately, our protagonists don’t have any elaborate plans, but they decide to spend the summer together. They start by attending a summer festival, where Rin tries to keep Eiji and herself away from the rest of the theatre club.

Later, Eiji and Rin head to the pool with Aya and her friend. Eiji enjoys playing with the kids but quickly tires out. He then gets some alone time with Rin, during which he compliments her swimsuit, making her—and the audience—blush with delight.

The episode also hints at another budding romance. When Rin and her family visit their grandparents’ town, we meet Shiro, a friend of Aya’s. Aya starts imitating her sister’s playful behaviour around Shiro, who quickly develops a crush and becomes awkwardly shy. When Shiro asks why Aya is acting differently, she innocently replies that she’s just copying Rin’s spoiled side. Confused and flustered, Shiro runs off, leaving Aya puzzled.

In the next episode, Eiji and Rin might find themselves navigating the delicate balance between friendship and something more. Rin will continue to drop hints about her affection, which Eiji might not be able to grasp. But, nonetheless, we know Eiji will still spend his time with her anyways.
