Positively Yours Episode 1 Recap

The episode begins with Hee-won waking up beside a naked man, clearly indicating that they have crossed lines the previous night. From her memories, we see what happened in the past. Hee-won attends a party where her friend was supposed to attend. This is a place for mostly the rich people, and that is where she meets Doo-joon, who is also attending the party out of necessity. In this very party, Hee-won’s boss was also attending, and to throw her off, she tries to pretend to be Doo-joon’s girlfriend, who becomes very annoyed with her antics.

Not only that, but because of some accident, their interaction turns worse. We also get to know that both Doo-joon and Hee-won do not have a very good opinion on marriage because they had a bad experience regarding this. Later, it also becomes apparent that Doo-joon’s mother is very distraught over the fact that her son does not want to get married.

Hee-won is in the production team of a beer company, and her boss absolutely hates her. This is precisely because she is very good at what she does, and her boss cannot accept that. We also find that there is a man called Min-wook, who is her friend from school, and they have great chemistry. It becomes apparent that Hee-won has a crush on him; he is the one whom she considers a special someone.

A very shocking thing happens, and Hee-won finds out that her crush is actually involved with her friend. She had no idea about this, as both of them skilfully kept the information from her and even started dating behind her back. Just when she was wailing by the roadside, Doo-joon’s car came, and splashed water on her without intending to. This scene was hilarious because when she tried to fight him for doing this, he just paid her a hefty amount, which made her very happy.

Because of work, Hee-won had to go to another party, and there she met Doo-joon again. This time, their first meeting was not that bad because they had a really good conversation about beer, a field that is relevant to both of their work. This is where they get heavily drunk and cause a ruckus while running away from that place. While drinking again, they become attracted to each other, and this leads to them spending the night.

Hilariously, the next day, Hee-won quickly makes her escape after paying him. In the second half of the story, we also get to know why Doo-joon refuses to get married, and it is more tragic than we thought. Everything goes back to normal after that, but that is, until Hee-won finds out that she became pregnant from her one-night stand.

Positively Yours Episode 1 Review

This K-drama is actually based on a very well-known and famous webtoon. Though the webtoon is definitely more impressive, the K-drama does a really good job of depicting the characters and the storyline. It is still too early to predict how things will go, but I’m pretty sure the series will be a hit.
