Dive into You Episode 2 Review
Ha-na and Ha-ru Learn Their Time Travel Could Save Woo-jae
The transmigration aspect of this drama was not as simple as I originally thought. Both Ha-na and Ha-ru become very surprised after finding out that they have switched places with each other. However, Ha-na also becomes extremely emotional when she sees Woo-jae in front of her. This makes her lose the judo competition that Ha-ru originally won. However, something happens, and Ha-ru in Ha-na’s body drops the camcorder, which then brings the siblings back to their present timeline. This time they returned in their original bodies.
They realised that the camcorder has something to do with this whole situation, and water is the one thing that is triggering their time travelling. Ha-ru also learns that whatever changes they made after they went into the past, those alterations actually remained even in the future. Thus, Ha-na gets the idea that they might be able to save Woo-jae if they transmigrate into the past again. Thus, they try to trigger another time travel situation, and they finally find a legitimate way to do it. However, even then, things get complicated because the siblings again find themselves in each other’s bodies.
Ha-na and Ha-ru’s Body-Swap Charade Gets Hilariously Out of Control
It becomes increasingly more difficult for the siblings to act as each other whenever they go back in time. Ha-ru is playful, rash and childlike even though he’s the eldest of the twins. On the other hand, Ha-na is originally calm, reserved and mature. Thus, when they act as their true selves in each other’s body, Woo-jae gets confused. It also gives way to some very funny moments that actually make you laugh.
One segment where Ha-na in Ha-ru’s body had to enter a judo camp with other judo players was especially hilarious. There we see a very demure and innocent Ha-ru (Ha-na) face tonnes of bare-bodied athletes and the negative sides of sharing a room with three other dudes. There are also plenty of BL moments precisely because Ha-na feels the proximity with Woo-jae more strongly while becoming his opponent in judo matches.
Ha-na and Ha-ru Change Fate, But Pay a Devastating Price
Things do not stay light-hearted for long because Woo-jae was dealing with something really problematic in his life. It was apparent that he was being hounded by something, and he refused to tell others and kept the problem to himself. This was also the thing that hurt him and later made it impossible for him to continue a life in judo. The siblings swear that they would prevent such a thing from happening again, and they quickly spring into action when they realise something was going on with Woo-jae’s family.
Even though things change a lot by the end of this episode, it was not a great outcome for the siblings. Yes, they manage to achieve their primary target, but they also lose something extremely precious to them. The way this episode ends was also very interesting because it leaves you craving more information.
Final Thoughts
This was another really good second episode and a great continuation from the first episode. This was filled with humorous moments, and the antics of both Ha-na and Ha-ru are hilarious. The twists and turns also land well, even though at times the series makes simple decisions. It also has enough refreshing elements to keep you hooked till the end.
