Mission Majnu: Sidharth Malhotra’s Spy Thriller to Stream on Netflix, Release Date Out

Mission Majnu is an upcoming action spy thriller, set to be released on Netflix next year. The film is directed by Shantanu Bagchi and the screenplay is written by Parveez Shaikh, Aseem Arrora and Sumit Batheja. While it is produced by Ronnie Screwvala, Amar Butala and Garima Mehta.

The film will star Sidharth Malhotra and Rashmika Mandanna in the titular role. The rest of the ensemble cast includes Parmeet Sethi, Sharib Hashmi, Mir Sarwar, Zakir Hussain, Kumud Mishra and Arjan Bajwa.

Although the film was supposed to be released this year, Netflix India finally announced its OTT release with a poster showing Sidharth Malhotra in a rugged undercover look. He is holding a gun in one hand, while it looks like a still taken out of the middle of an action scene, where the undercover RAW agent is on the stakeout for the enemies.

The post is also captioned – Ek jaanbaaz agent ki ansuni kahaani – which literally translates to, ‘Untold story of a daring agent.’ The thriller film is set in the 1970s where Sidharth will be playing the role of a RAW agent who leads a covert operation on Pakistani soil. It will also bring Sidharth and Rashmika Mandanna together for the first time on screen.

Previously, he was seen in the film Thank God alongside Ajay Devgn. Currently, he is shooting for Dharma Productions’ Yodha and will also be starring in Indian Police Force, a web series directed by Rohit Shetty, which will stream on Amazon Prime Video. While Rashmika was last seen in the film Goodbye with Amitabh Bachchan.

Mission Majnu was actually supposed to be the actress’s Bollywood debut but due to the delay in the release, Goodbye became her debut film. With much anticipation for the Netflix release, fans of both actors are eagerly waiting to see them on screen.

It is set to be released on Netflix on January 20, 2023.
