Miss Night and Day Episode 4 Recap

The episode begins with Lim Sun talking to the deputy director, who convinces her to be the office aide for Ji-woong. She hesitates but feels happy about working with Ji-woong and soon accepts the job. Ji-woong, on the other hand, could be happier with the setting. Mi-jin visits her best friend Ga-yeong and they celebrate her getting a proper job. Mi-jin relishes that she will finally be able to display her skills.
The next day, Ji-woong talks with his fellow prosecutor and the viewers find out that Ji-woong hates working with older people as he finds them a nuisance. They conjure a plan to get Lim Sun to quit on her own. They begin by giving her a big load of documents and telling her to type all the information before noon – hoping she will think of it as a mammoth task and quit. However, their plans are foiled as Lim Sun works her magic and rewrites all the documents in time – without a single spelling error.
They continue their mission by getting her to create an Excel sheet of all the spending from the previous year – however, she must create it using the disorganised box of bills. Lim Sun takes it in stride and creates the sheet – shocking them. They think of another way – a complex dinner order. They ensure that she will find difficulty with their complex orders.
But Lim Sun wins again – shocking them once again. As the sun hastily sets, she bikes back home when Ko Won sees her. He calls her out but she does not hear him due to the music. She turns a corner and as soon as the sun sets, she becomes Mi-jin again. Ko Won does not recognise her but is puzzled by the outfit as it is the same as Lim Sun.
At home, her mother massages her legs as Mi-jin looks tiredly at her. She also shares how she loves that she is employed and asks her what would they like as gifts from her first paycheck. The mother refuses everything as Mi-jin paid for her own education and advises her to save some money for the future. The next day, Lim Sun is given another mammoth task – to meet a plaintiff who resides on the top of a mountain.
Lim Sun shines once again as she gets the task done right by lunchtime and gets him to testify in court in the next session – unknowingly breaking every evil plan created by Ji-woong. Later, Ji-woong investigates the Ko Won acid incident and realises that the acid, drugs and Ko Won are related to something and the perpetrator is hiding a bigger racket than expected.
Ji-woong and Mi-jin’s story blossoms as he informs her that she is a witness to the crime as she saw the killer up close. He brings her a few self-defence tools and promises to protect her. She feels unsafe but he decides to protect her with all his power and might. He plants a GPS tracker and saves his number on speed dial, just to be safe. The two seem to be getting closer and they don’t realise that they will soon fall in love.

Ga-yeong gets busy with finding the cat and she tries her best for her best friend. Mi-jin, on the other hand, feels happy to be working after years of just doing part-time jobs – which makes her parents happy as well. Ju Byung-deok meets with a druggie to find information about the drug racket and finds out that fentanyl is being sold in high-end clubs.
He relays the information to Ji-woong and they decide to run an undercover operation to find the suppliers and sources. Lim Sun bravely tells them that she wants to help them as well – she wants to be of use to them. Begrudgingly, they agree. Lim Sun and Byung-deok enter the club but are immediately thrown out due to their age. Soon, Lim Sun turns back to Mi-jin and decides to enter the club and help them out.
Ji-woong gets worried that the operation will be bust but he does not realise that Mi-jin enters a VIP room to meet some guests. They look high and she tries to get evidence but she is not subtle about it. Without wasting any time, Ji-woong masterfully fights the bodyguards and looks for Lim Sun when he hears a high-pitched scream from another room. The episode ends with Mi-jin being harassed by one of the drugged-up guests.
Miss Night and Day Episode 4 Review

The episode has a lot of comedic elements that are brilliantly displayed by Lee Jung-eun as Lim Sun. She has physical and verbal comedy pat down! She also expresses Mi-jin’s emotions amazingly and one can see the youthful side. Choi Jin-woong’s comedic timing is an unexpected treat. While it is more subtle and subdued, he still shines during the childish plans scenes. Jung Eun-ji appears less in the episode but sparkles nonetheless! We hope to see her romance scenes with Choi Jin-woong soon.
Miss Night and Day is streaming on Netflix.
