Melo House Stills: Ji Jin-hee Reappears in Front of His Family 11 Years Later as the Owner of Their House

On July 8, JTBC released the first set of promotional images for its latest drama series, Melo House Stills, giving viewers a sneak peek into the lives of its intriguing characters. Directed by Kim Da-ye, known for her work on My ID Is Gangnam Beauty, and written by Kim Young-yoon, acclaimed for My Secret Romance, the series is set to blend family dynamics with melodramatic elements, promising a compelling narrative. 멜로하우스 features a talented ensemble cast including Ji Jin-hee, Kim Ji-soo, Son Na-eun, Choi Min-ho, Yoon San-ha, and others. The storyline revolves around themes of family unity amidst personal struggles, encapsulated in the phrase Family X Melo.

Jin-hee takes on the role of Byun Moo-jin, a character who reappears in the lives of his ex-wife and daughter after an 11-year absence, now a successful billionaire following past financial hardships. Kim Ji-soo portrays Geum Ae-yeon, Byun Moo-jin’s resilient ex-wife who has raised their children single-handedly while overcoming various adversities. Son Na-eun transforms into Byun Mi-rae, their daughter, who works as a dedicated merchandiser at a major supermarket, navigating her familial responsibilities alongside her personal aspirations.

SHINee’s Minho will play Nam Tae-pyeong, a former national taekwondo athlete turned supermarket security guard, bringing depth and contrast to the story with his portrayal of independence and personal growth. ASTRO’s Sanha will portray Byun Hyun-jae, Byun Mi-rae’s supportive younger brother, who eagerly welcomes their father’s return despite his sister’s reservations.

The series is slated to premiere on August 10, 2024 at 10:30 p.m. KST, promising audiences an emotional journey through the complexities of family bonds and romantic melodrama. As anticipation builds, JTBC continues to release further details and teasers, heightening the excitement for what Melo House has in store.
