MasterChef Australia Season 14 Episode 15 Recap: Can You Crack the Egg?

MasterChef Australia Season 14 Episode 15 is called ‘Egg Elimination Challenge’. Judges Andy Allen, Melissa Leong and Jock Zonfrillo, explain the challenge to the judges. Michael won’t be a part of the challenge as he won the weekly immunity. Alvin and Christina from the Favourites don’t cook in the first round to balance the team with the Fans. The Fans and the Favourites have to cook a dish using a single egg placed on their table.

The judges will taste the 3 best dishes from each side. The person with the best egg dish will help their team not enter the second elimination round. The contestants have to cook with the remaining eggs from the tray in the second round. They get 60 minutes to cook a dish. The least impressive dish will send its maker home.

MasterChef Australia Season 14 Episode 15 Recap Contains Spoilers

In the first round, judges taste the egg dishes made by Aldo, Minoli and John from the Favourites. The judges love Aldo’s Asparagi Milanese with anchovies sauce. However, Minoli and John’s dish had some flaws. The judges taste Steph, Ali, and Daniel’s dishes from the Fans. All three serve an amazing dish. However, the judges love Daniel’s Crab Omelette with Chilli Butter the most. It was a winning dish that saved Fans from entering the second elimination round.

In the second round of elimination in MasterChef Australia Season 14 Episode 15, the Favourites have to cook with the remaining eggs. Billie uses her immunity pin and decides not to cook. Christina and Tommy play their immunity pin in the middle of the cook as their dish isn’t up to the mark.

Minoli, Sashi, Julie, John, Aldo, Alvin, and Mindy are the only Favourites cooking in the elimination round. The judges love Sashi, Minoli, Mindy, Alvin and Aldo’s dishes. Julie’s rice wasn’t cooked well, and John’s lemon tart had many issues. The judges felt John’s dish was the least impressive among the two dishes. Hence, he gets eliminated from the show.

MasterChef Australia Season 14 Episode 15 Recap: Final Thoughts

The egg elimination challenge was quite eggciting and egg-centric. However, it was sad to see the Favourites using their immunity pin early in the competition. I was shocked to see Tommy using the pin halfway in his cook. As someone who has seen him cook during his season, I know that he’s a brilliant cook. I wish he trusted his skills a little and continued. But it’s his decision, and as a fan of the show, I have just to support their decisions.
