Maestra Episode 9 Recap

Following Se-eum’s collapse during the concert, news of the same breaks out everywhere as she is rushed to the hospital. Meanwhile, Detective Dong-sik asks for a DNA test to be done on the blood sample collected from Bong-ju’s murder site with Se-eum’s hair sample. The next day, Se-eum wakes up and discovers what has been spreading on the news.

She asks to go home immediately and Jeong-jae takes her to her father’s place where she finally relaxes after everything that has happened. Elsewhere, Yu-ra tries to make Han-gil broadcast the documentary to make use of Se-eum’s news, however, he rejects her proposal as he knows that this is not the right time.

The next day, she leaves behind a resignation letter on Sang-do’s table and news of the same reaches Jeong-jae and Kim Phil who are shocked. They rush to her hotel only to find out that she is not there and the search for Se-eum begins. Meanwhile, news of Se-eum rejection spreads around the orchestra and while A-jin rejoices, Luna rushes to find Se-eum, only to be stopped by Tae-ho.

Elsewhere, Jeong-jae finally finds Se-eum and stays with her, promising to not ask any questions and just accompany her in silence. The two spend the day together until, however, Jeong-jae’s eyes fall on some letters in the bin which have been written by Se-eum. He is shocked when he reads them as they are addressed to her father, wishing him farewell; indicating that Se-eum thought about ending her life.

Jeong-jae confronts Se-eum about the same and the latter finally breaks down as she tells him that she does not want to die, but she also doesn’t want anyone to see her in the state she saw her mother in. She doesn’t want her father to go through the same pain again, which is why even though she wants to live she has to go away.

Just like that, the two break into tears as the pain is no less for any of them. Meanwhile, Dong-sik finds out that the DNA found at the scene does not match Se-eum’s which leaves him shocked. The scene changes to A-jin who is shopping for her unborn child. Elsewhere, Luna gets drunk and calls Tae-ho to accompany her.

The next day, she wakes up next to Tae-ho and checks his phone only to be left shocked by what she sees. Elsewhere, Jeong-jae drops Se-eum home and assures her that he will be next to her when she decides to get treatment. He promises to wait until she is ready to lean on him.

Se-eum soon leaves to discuss her divorce procedure with Kim Phil. However, despite her agreeing to his conditions for the divorce, he isn’t ready to end things any quickly. Later, she informs her friend Hye-jung about her plan to leave for a trip and asks her to take care of her father.

Meanwhile, Tae-ho tells Luna about Se-eum’s return and she rushes off to meet her. On the other hand, Se-eum’s father receives a phone call from the hospital where Se-eum left her blood sample to get it tested for Remington’s, and is shocked by what he hears. Thus, while Luna tries to convince Se-eum to not leave, her father hurries her home and tells her about the call.

Se-eum’s father tells her that the blood sample contained traces of poison which leaves her shocked. Luna then tells them that she may know who did this and shows pictures of the messages she found on Tae-ho’s phone. They were all sent to Jeong-jae as he confirmed leaving food and coffee for Se-eum in her office.

Se-eum hurries to Jeng-jae’s office and asks if he is the one who employed Tae-ho as her assistant. Jeong-jae confirms this but is shocked when Se-eum accuses him of trying to poison her.

Maestra Episode 9 Review

After a rollercoaster of high-low emotions, the episode leaves us with the shocking news of Se-eum being poisoned. Maestra is bringing the suspense to a new level, however, the show may have left some important clues regarding the person poisoning Se-eum in the previous week.

Last week, we saw Kim Phil asking his lawyer if the divorce proceeding would stop if Se-eum died and looks like he is the one behind this chaos right now. However, we also have a second suspect, none other than A-jin because her actions in this episode were surely suspicious.

Meanwhile, taking away our attention in this episode is the green flag Yoo Jeong-jae who is a real supporter of Se-eum. However, if he turns out to be the real culprit behind all of this then we will surely be in for the betrayal of the decade. Let’s hope that does not happen so that we can enjoy the warmth he is spreading with his actions.
