How I Met Your Father Season 2 Episode 13 Recap
Nick visits Sid’s bar and has a discussion with Sophie about Lori, which makes him realise he is Sophie’s father (which we can’t be sure of unless Lori herself confirms). Nick and Sophie try to bond by going out and having conversations however their differences cause disruptions. Sophie finds no common traits and starts to worry that their relationship might never work out.
Val thinks her fiance Swish is having an affair and finds joy in it since she believes he is going to break up with her. To experience her happy vibes, she joins Ellen and visits a pop star Missy Mortiz’s open house. The duo have a great time there before Missy kicks them out. Since they’re Missy’s fans, they take her curse words as blessings.

Just then, Val learns that her engagement ring is missing. As it is Swish’s late grandma’s ring, she returns to Missy’s house to search for it. Ellen and Val find out how terrible of a person Missy is because she denies giving the ring back. Somehow Val fights for it and gets it back.
At Pemberton’s, Sophie and Nick start selling hotdogs because Nick’s business isn’t going well. They make a great sale but Nick’s tired of coming to the city every day for selling hotdogs. Hence, he hires a Polish actor to pretend a fight and stop the sales. Sophie learns about the actor and Nick convinces her with the truth. He asks her to visit him in the town so they can build their bond. Likewise, he will also visit her in the city once in a while.

Coming to Jesse, he is upset over the fact he is having no dating life. He seeks Charlie and asks him to set him up with a girl. Charlie suggests that they both switch accents since many girls like foreign men. Likewise, Jesse starts to speak with a British accent while Charlie goes in for the American one. Surprisingly they meet two women Julia and Angelina.

After having a great time, both Charlie and Jesse reveal the truth to the ladies. Julia accepts to date Charlie even after that but Angelina reveals her engagement and leaves Jesse. On the other hand, Swish meets up with Val. Thinking that he is going to spill the truth about the affair, she gets all defensive. But to her amazement, Swish actually reveals that he was behaving hideously due to preparing a surprise engagement party.
Val is still in disbelief and believes Swish will break off the engagement. However, with all the hasty preparations, it’s evident that Swish is serious.
How I Met Your Father Season 2 Episode 13 Review: Final Thoughts
As much as I love Val with Charlie, Swish is also a good pair. The young man is definitely head over heels for Val and I hope she makes a quick decision. She might also fall in love with Swish because when she fought to get back Swish’s engagement ring it looked like she cared about it. So hopefully we’ll see something either begin or end.

There’s still no confirmation that Nick is Sophie’s father because only if Lori identifies and agrees we can be sure of it. There are chances of Nick actually being dead and this man being a trickster, who knows? Hopefully, we’ll soon know it. On the flip side, isn’t this show about Sophie’s son’s father? Why are they wasting time on finding Sophie’s father? Maybe there’s a big connection? I mean, if there isn’t something important then there’s no point in sharing all this information.
How I Met Your Father season 2 is now streaming on Hulu and Disney+ Hotstar.
