How I Met Your Father Season 2 Episode 10 follows Sophie’s relationship with her new man, Robert (who is way too older than her), Val’s impulsive decisions and Jesse’s inner fight to control his feelings for Sophie. The sitcom creator is Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, and it serves as a standalone sequel to everyone’s favourite show from the early 2000s- How I Met Your Mother (HIMYM).
We see the return of Hilary Duff as Sophie, Chris Lowell as Jesse, Francia Raisa as Valentina, Suraj Sharma as Sid, Tom Ainsley as Charlie, Tien Tran as Ellen, and Kim Cattrall as the future Sophie. We will also see Ashley Reyes as Hannah, Leighton Meester as Meredith, Josh Peck as Drew, Meaghan Rath as Parker, Michael McDonald as Warren, Jessica St Clair as Megan, Aidan Shaw as Robert, Wendie Malick as Daphne, Judy as Judy, Morgan Smith as Alice and Stony Blyden as Jasper. In addition to the old cast, we have Mark Consuelos, Constance Marie, Michael Cimino, and John Corbett joining the cast for the new season.
The tenth episode of the show’s second season is called I’m His Swish. Pamela Fryman directs it, and the runtime for the episode is 21 minutes.

Sophie and Robert are dating, and she finds him the man of her dreams. Since he is attentive, mature, and patient with her needs, Sophie feels the happiest and believes there’s a high chance of her falling in love with him. Sophie announces Robert to her friends, who tease her for dating an old man who won’t be as good-looking. However, when Robert visits, everyone is shocked by his extraordinary physique and personality.
Since Sophie is out most of the time with Robert, Val feels left out and is tired of doing the chores at home alone. Val is happy for Sophie as she has finally found her safe haven. However, she also finds it hard to do all the cleaning alone. Hence, Val starts to be very active on dating apps and ends up getting serious with a guy called Swish. When Val says about her new date’s interest to Sophie, the latter is upset about getting to know the information late.
Val, however, convinces that Sophie is busy with Robert, so she decides to keep herself busy too. The friends let the issue slide to avoid arguments, but things feel distant between them. Val goes on a date with Swish, and both buddies spend their time individually.
On the other hand, Jesse is shocked by how handsome Robert looks and also feels hurt because Sophie is in love. Ellen, who knows about Jesse’s feelings, tries to stay beside her brother. When Jesse is going through an inner conflict with conveying his feelings, Ellen gets caught between her girlfriend, Rachel, and Jesse. Rachel comes to town before her scheduled time, and when Jesse reaches home with pizza for Ellen, he catches the couple in his bed.

Feeling upset about it, Jesse leaves. Ellen and Rachel try to help him by setting him a date at Sid’s bar below. Fortunately, Jesse finds a date, but when he invites her to his place, he has a nervous breakdown, and things end. Jesse is clearly head over heels for Sophie but tends to miss out on telling about it to her.
Meanwhile, Sophie plans a date at her apartment with Robert to surprise him. Val also brings Swish to the apartment, pissing Sophie off. Sophie asks Val to take her date out since she has prepared everything for Robert, but Val argues. During the fight, Val says she loves Swish only to irritate and win over Sophie. Sophie knows Val doesn’t love him, but Val keeps insisting on it. Swish, who is in the room, overhears Val and takes her words seriously.
How I Met Your Father Season 2 Episode 10 Ending
During the argument, Val says that she loves how Swish treats her since she is older than him. This makes Sophie wonder whether she is the swish of Robert since the latter is older. Sophie then decides to figure out what exactly is going on between her and Robert. They both plan a long weekend together to learn about each other.
Meanwhile, Swish proposes engagement to Val because he believes she loves him. Val also hastily says yes because she thinks he isn’t serious about it and will back out.
Final Thoughts
This episode has so many important details to look deeper into. Firstly, Jesse is on the brink of losing his mind due to the inability to confess to Sophie. On the other hand, Sophie and Robert’s relationship is going to have a plot twist because though he treats her well, it just doesn’t sit well. Val is very impulsive and makes hasty decisions that can cause her something. Overall, episode 10 is very intriguing and engaging, and the dialogue is written in such a way that humour is present throughout the serious topics, too, so kudos.
