Class of 09 Episode 5 Ending Explained

The title of the episode really only makes sense towards the end of Class of 09 Episode 5. We see the class get together to meet and confront Tayo. As the group is unable to make Tayo reevaluate the AI system, they hatch a plan to meet the senator who is critical of Tayo’s methods and will fall under the radar of the system when she will question its functioning, making the entire situation a threatening one for the AI. Poet leads the group to meet Senator Spencer at the church. It is believed that the bureau’s drones will not be able to track them down inside the church as it is a holy institution.

As predicted in some sense, they were all wrong because the AI did not care and detected the meeting as a threat. It launched its attack inside the church, and gave the Father an electric shock, knocking him down unconscious without taking permission from any of the agents. Even Tayo could not stop the drones from entering the church which is what really shocked him. His commands were not even registered as he kept asking the drones to retreat!

Will this be Tayo’s realization to understand the dangers of having an AI system work as the supreme justice provider in the nation? Or, will he brush this off as an isolated incident and turn a blind eye to everything happening around him? Well, the next episode will surely have all the answers we need.
