Heartbeat Kdrama Poster: 2PM’s Taecyeon and Won Ji-an Look Playfully Mischievous in Their Upcoming Fantasy-Romance

On May 29, 2023 (IST), KBS2 unveiled the main poster of the fantasy romance Heartbeat Kdrama series coming out this June. Featuring the leading pair of the upcoming South Korean TV show, the official visual announcement of the series suggests that 2PM Taecyeon will possibly be taking on the role of a vampire, owing to him being pictured inside a coffin, while Won Ji-an is captured in shock beside him.

Also known as My Heart Is Beating and 가슴이 뛴다, the KBS2 drama has been written by Kim Ha-na and Jung Seung-joo, and directed by Lee Hyun-seok and Lee Min-soo. Ok Taec-yeon is set to charm the audiences as Seon Woo-hyul, a half-human, half-vampire hybrid creature. The previously released briefs about the leading characters also state that Woo-hyul is desperate to turn into a human being, but he fails to make the most of the opportunity due to a one-day difference in his 100 years deal.

Ji-an, who’ll be portraying Joo In-hae’s character is a part-time high school nurse who also owns a guest house. As the story moves along, and as the fate has it planned for these two, Woo-hyul will end up moving in with Joo In-hae. However, despite the latter being a human being, she’ll first come across as an unfeeling woman as opposed to Taecyeon’s persona that assumes the shape of a supposed beastly and bloodthirsty creature, but is more human than any of us can imagine.

Heartbeat Video Teaser

While this is not the first look at the series, the new update still marks for the revelation of the Heartbeat main poster. It seems as if Woo-hyul has spent 100 years in the same coffin and when it finally opens up, he’s stunned to see his reflection (or probably the lack thereof, since vampires don’t have one) in the hand mirror he’s been holding on to for all this time. In-hae is equally startled to find him in the coffin and the poster snaps her reaction of falling to the floor after beholding the unusual vision.

Chances are that the coffin wasn’t supposed to be opened till 100 years had passed for him to become a human being, but Woo-hyul’s entrapment is loosened a day earlier, further trapping him in his hybrid state. Other main cast members starring in the show include Park Kang-hyun as Shin Do-sik and Yoon So-hee as Na Hae-won.

In addition to being a K-pop idol and a member of the South Korean boy band 2PM, formed by JYP Entertainment, Taecyeon has also had a long and glorious acting and hosting career. He was last seen in the 2022 series Blind as Ryu Sung-joon, and 2021 drama Secret Royal Inspector and Joy as Ra Yi-eon. He even shared a surprise cameo in the American-Korean Netflix series XO, Kitty. On the other hand, the South Korean actress Won Ji-an was last spotted as Ha Joon-kyung in If You Wish Upon Me (2022).
