Dr Stone Season 4 Episode 8 Recap

This episode was an intense rollercoaster, bringing major shifts for Senku and the Kingdom of Science. The first half focused on Dr. Xeno’s revival from petrification and his discovery of the process behind depetrification. Wasting no time, he prepared a diluted nitric acid solution and poured it over the soldiers attending the party. Fortunately, they all followed his instructions and kept their eyes open, successfully regaining consciousness.

Dr. Xeno’s luck didn’t stop there. He also managed to obtain a platinum ring that Carlos, a devoted fan of Luna, had safeguarded by holding it in his mouth. With this crucial element, Xeno now had the means to produce large quantities of nitric acid, giving him the resources to create as much gunpowder as needed. Meanwhile, Stanley secured tobacco for his long-awaited cigarettes, marking the foundation of the American colony.

However, things took a disastrous turn due to one critical oversight; Senku and his allies failed to keep tabs on Luna. While they were engaged in an important conversation out on the deck, Luna overheard much of their discussion and wasted no time passing the information to her waiting contact, none other than Stanley, the sniper.

Dr Stone Season 4 Episode 9: Still

This episode picks up from the part where Senku gets gravely injured from the bullet shots. Contrary to what we thought, Senku actually started to bleed heavily and was rushed inside. Later, we find out that the bag that he created was able to withhold the bullets to the extent that it barely missed killing him. However, if his injuries are not treated as soon as possible, he will surely die. Coincidentally, this is where Luna comes into play.

Apparently, she used to be a medicinal student who got into college due to her father’s connection. Even though she is not the best person to treat someone as a doctor, she is all the Kingdom of Science has right now. She helps Senku out because she doesn’t want anyone to die and because she falls for him. Kohaku and Chrome also finally meet Tsukasa’s team.

Thankfully, they got a message from their mother ship with the help of a special type of cypher used in ancient Japan. This is why enemies who are American could not decipher it, and the messages go across. Tsukasa’s team thus becomes aware of Senku getting shot, and Chrome gets to step up as the scientist who must make things happen. The situation starts to get heated up as we see Chrome building the confidence to become the leader after he realizes how much Senku believes in him.

However, the highlight of this episode is definitely the fact that Senku sends the petrification device to Xeno. This was an absolutely insane move, and we do not know yet why he did it. There must have been a hidden agenda that is at play, and only time will tell who will win.

Verdict

I loved today’s episode as it was intense and showcased another formidable villain who, this time, is as smart as the hero. The battle here is of wits, and the one who can outwit the other will eventually win.
