Charlotte and Rill Fall to Vanica as Noelle Enters the Battle

The battle with Magna might have ended, but a much deadlier battle began in this episode, where we see many talented mages face off against Vanica. The fight between Vanica and Charlotte, along with Rill, did not go very well. They were pretty quickly defeated by Vanica, and it almost looked like she would manage to hurt Charlotte badly. However, that is when Noelle comes and changes the whole scenario.

Before Vanica and Noelle’s battle, the conflict between Dante and Magna did not properly end at the beginning of this episode. There was even a chance that he might come back and wreak havoc. However, Jack made sure Dante’s revival did not become a concern for others and cause more problems for Magna. I like Jack’s role here because he genuinely wanted to protect the efforts Magna put in defeating Dante.

Noelle’s New Power Could Put Her Above Several Magic Knight Captains

Magna is not the only one who got stronger this time. Noelle also managed to find a way that would put her way ahead of many of the captains. When Noelle comes, we also see the cursed Lolopechka, who is under the control of Vanica. This is also why a kind soul like Lolopechka, who had no idea how to fight by hurting others, started to use offensive magic against her very dear friends. She fights with Gaja, who came to bring her back. In this episode, we also see the fight between Vanica and Acier as Vanica’s memory. This was also the encounter that ultimately killed Acier.

Vanica sought Acier out for a fight because she wanted to face strong opponents. At that time, Acier was taking care of a newly born Noelle and hence was taking rest at a far away pace. In the middle of the battle, Noelle cried, and that made Vanica target both Noelle and Nozel, who was with her. Here, Acier fought to protect not only herself, but also her kids. She ultimately sustained a grave injury, but not before mortally wounding Vanica. Since then, Vanica has been looking to experience a similar thrill, which is why she also picked up a fight with Noelle.

Noelle’s new Valkyrie form was something I genuinely did not see coming. It was breathtaking to look at, and the animation made the entire fight even more mesmerising. Every panel looked gorgeous, and the stakes reached an entirely new level by the end of the episode. Vanica also proved to be a far more challenging opponent than Dante, and the second half made it clear that she could become an even bigger threat. We also get a very interesting twist towards the end, which has me eagerly looking forward to the next episodes.

All in all, this was a fantastic episode that gave Noelle just as much attention as Magna received previously. It also reminded us exactly why she stands out as the strongest female character in Black Clover.
