Chief Detective 1958 Episode 4 Preview: Young-han and team get on a new case, but this time they are against evil which has more power than any of them.
Chief Detective 1958 (수사반장 1958) is a new Korean action thriller bringing the events in the life of detective Park Young-han, who teams up with his colleagues at a new Police Station to fight corruption. The drama is a prequel to the legendary Korean drama Chief Inspector which entertained the audience for 18 years.
The drama focuses on one of the main characters from the original show- Park Young-han played by Choi Bool-am. Now, the prequel brings the younger version of Park Young-han played by Lee Je-hoon. Directed by Kim Sung-hoon, the drama stars also stars Lee Dong-hwi, Choi Woo-sung, Yoon Hyun-soo, Seon Eun-soo, and Choi Deok-moon, alongside other cast members.
Chief Detective 1958 takes over MBC’s Friday & Saturday 21:50 KST time slot previously occupied by Wonderful World.

Chief Detective 1958 Episode 3 Recap
The Unit 1 team is ready and their first task is to clear out the beggar causing havoc in the market. The team goes there and finishes the work in no time, with Young-han letting the beggars go after warning them. Later, he gets engrossed in Ho-jung’s stories and forgets his date with Hye-ju until it’s too late.
He then gets his hand on a newspaper and reads about a gang of thieves who are robbing banks across the country and killing the guard each time. He shares the same with his team and tries to get on the case but Superintendent Choi has some other work for everyone at the station. But this doesn’t stop the team from working on this case secretly.
The team gets to work and soon finds out that the gang is going to attack a bank in Seoul and it will be on the day when all officers would be busy protecting the VIP. The team is not ready to let go of the robbers at this point and is ready to go out on their own. However, their plan is discovered and while Sang-sun is at the bank dressed as the guard, Young-han. Ho-jung and Kyeong-hwan are locked behind bars.
However, the three soon get out of there and rush to the bank, only to find out that the thieves have already entered the bank. They begin Plan B and lure the thieves out by faking a siren noise. Meanwhile, the thieves are frustrated upon finding the manager unconscious and soon panic when they hear the siren blaring.
The leader captures Hye-ju, who had some work at the bank and takes her as bait. Sung-sun tries to stop them but is only able to capture one of the thieves. Meanwhile, Young-han sees what has happened and approaches Hye-ju while dressed as one of the thieves. Hye-ju recognises him and is assured as she is dragged into the car.
A wild chase later, during which Young-han’s identity is discovered, the team can capture the thieves alive and call Superintendent Choi and others to hold onto them. The group gets together for pictures while Unit 1 is least bothered by this fame and thus, they leave from there. Later, Superintendent Choi rebukes them for defying orders which only falls on deaf ears.
However, Young-han once again realises that he is late for another movie date and rushes to the theatre. But this time, he can hold Hye-ju’s hand and go for the movie.

Children are being kidnapped and a suspicious person soon emerges. However, this person is not without backing and it will take the team more than just some concrete evidence to punish her for what she has done. The case continues to get twisted as they soon realise that even Superintendent Choi is unable to open his mouth in front of this woman.
