Call It Love Episode 5 Recap

Call It Love episode 5 starts with Woo-joo coming across Min-young in the office and then watching Dong-jin walk away from the situation. In the office, Sun-woo is left frazzled as Dong-jin is nowhere to be found, and the former promises to explain everything to his friend, who is sitting at a café drinking his heartbreak away.

Woo-joo comes across him that night, sitting at the café and still drinking. During his time to leave, a drunk Dong-jin knocks his glass and bottle over, spilling shards everywhere and cutting his hand in the process. After he apologises to the owner, he starts walking back home, and as it turns out, Woo-joo follows him down the road in order to make sure that he reaches home safely.

She witnesses his tearful confession from the last episode and eventually saves him from being run over. Frustrated, she asks him whether he’s trying to die, and an impassioned Dong-jin tells her that it’s nothing like that. Even more frustrated now, Woo-joo tells him to take his revenge in order to get back at her for what she did and to stop hurting himself.

As he tries to walk away, she stops him and patches up his bleeding hand. Meanwhile, Min-young is crying in the apartment lobby, still selfishly waiting for Dong-jin to return so that she can see him once before going back home.

On the other hand, Woo-joo asks Dong-jin once again why he doesn’t just take revenge on Min-young – he could have at least crashed her wedding to teach her a lesson. A stoic Dong-jin tells her that that’s just embarrassing, and he wouldn’t want that on his conscience. The conversation brings memories of her crashing her father’s funeral to the forefront, and she lashes out at him, telling him that his attitude is the reason why Young-min is taking all of his clients.

The accusation makes him take note of the thought that he won’t be able to do the camping fair at this rate and makes her think about her attitude and the fact that she says whatever is on her mind might just hurt others.

The next day, Sun-woo apologises to Dong-jin profusely for lying to him, but the latter seems to have already gotten over the infraction. In fact, he proposes that they go to their clients to talk to them, and Sun-woo wonders how Woo-joo even got to know everything that she does. Meanwhile, at the office, Woo-joo can’t help but think about Dong-jin’s well-being, considering she has a bottle of hangover cure for him.

As Sun-woo and Dong-jin rush to their clients to convince them to work together, Min-young gets a call from Sung-man to know whether she is going to invest or not. Not getting a response from Sun-woo, she stands outside the office to talk to him regarding a plan and is spotted by Woo-joo. Afterwards, Dong-jin choosing not to go home and, on his way to a motel, is spotted by Ji-gu, who immediately reports to his sister.

The next day, Young-min takes everyone out to lunch and tries to get them all to join him at Shinwoo Fair. Everyone is uncomfortable with the notion, and not being able to take it any longer, Woo-joo leaves the lunch. Thinking back on Dong-jin’s unending kindness and empathy, she is filled with rage at the situation and calls Dong-jin to tell him everything.

They eventually come across each other, and, in the end, they all pack up all of Young-min’s things to finally get rid of him. Funnily enough, it is Woo-joo who helps Sun-woo to get the proof that is necessary to get things done once and for all.

Meanwhile, Dong-jin fires Young-min away from prying eyes – in private after work. The latter tells him that his naivety is the reason why Sung-man is playing him and taking his business away. However, Dong-jin isn’t being played anymore, and he tells Young-min as such.

After giving Young-min a piece of his mind, Dong-jin and Woo-joo meet each other at the office. Woo-joo, clearly, is very much swayed by Dong-jin’s kind nature and even goes as far as to ask him out to dinner. However, Min-young gets there just before Dong-jin walks in, and he is stunned to see his ex in such a sudden situation. Woo-joo is also annoyed at her arrival and waits for Dong-jin to make the next move.

Call It Love Episode 5 Ending

Dong-jin asks her to leave and tells her that they can’t meet at any time just because she wants to. However, she brings up that it’s about the company and that she just wants to apologise to him. Dong-jin finally stands up for himself and asks her to think about what she has done a thousand more times before showing up in front of him like this and tries to walk away with Woo-joo.

Call It Love Episode 5 Review

With the storyline finally picking up pace, the characters finally rounding their personalities off little by little, and, unfortunately, the colour grading still not getting any better, Call It Love episode 5 has got me feeling a ton of different things.

This particular episode is really interesting and thrilling, more so because you finally see our protagonists standing up for themselves in healthy ways. Dong-jin has got my heart, and his slow but steady revenge plan is really something to learn from. Interestingly enough, Woo-joo’s softer side is rather heartwarming to watch, and the two’s influence on each other is what is keeping me going.

Thus, I am here for the story for now and waiting to see both of these characters making great strides. Meanwhile, Min-young is the perfect antagonist – the selfish cheater is always a perfect addition, and Woo-joo’s ending boss move is the perfect answer to her entitlement.

We are here for a new wake for our characters. Let’s hope things only get better from here.
