Blue Lock Episode 17 Preview: When, Where and How to Watch!

Blue Lock Episode 17 is the seventeenth episode of one of the most popular anime of this year. Blue Lock is a sports anime directed by Tetsuaki Watanabe and Hisashi Toujima and is based on an original manga written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yuusuke Nomura. The series is being animated by Studio 8bit.

The show follows Yoichi Isagi, a talented but unrefined striker who gets the opportunity of a lifetime after being invited to compete for and inside the Blue Lock, where Japan’s most talented football strikers have all been gathered to compete against each other. Yoichi might not be the strongest, fastest, sturdiest, or most technically gifted out of all the candidates gathered, but he still has a skill that helps him keep up with the others.

The first selection process saw the strikers compete against each other in teams of 11, just as a standard football match would be. After learning about each other’s strengths and abilities, Yoichi and his teammates, including Bachira, Chigiri, and Kunigami, cleared the first selection successfully. However, a lot of football is still left to play, and many players are still left to defeat!

Blue Lock Episode 17 Plot

This is a plot that writes itself. Yoichi and Nagi have both come face to face with their friends in a game that they have already lost once. What’s worse is they are playing with a bad apple this time around, as Barou’s weakness is much more easily exploitable than Bachira’s ever was. Now, not only do Chigiri, Kunigami, and Reo have the upper hand on them, but we are at risk of seeing the boring 2v2s again. Let’s hope that doesn’t happen.

Blue Lock Episode 17 Characters

The character to look forward to this time is Barou, and if he can learn to work with Yoichi and Nagi to win this game. If that doesn’t happen, then Yoichi and Nagi might still clear this selection one way or another, but he isn’t. It is going to be up to Yoichi again to bend over backwards and try and make chemistry happen with this troglodyte who thinks football is a single-person game. Nagi not taking any of his crap is a great detail.

Blue Lock Episode 17 Predictions

While I couldn’t have been more wrong in my previous prediction, I am confident enough to say that Yoichi’s team is winning this selection to go ahead and face Rin and Bachira with one of these three, probably Chigiri.

Blue Lock Episode 16 Recap

Yoichi and Nagi have to deal with Barou’s massive ego as they now have to play with him to progress in the later rounds. He turns out to be a real stickler for neatness and structure as they both struggle to keep up with him. Meanwhile, having been unable t find a team that matches their hunger, Chigiri, Kunigami, and Reo have yet to face anyone in the round of three. Thus, it becomes a match made in heaven in an onsen as the two teams challenge each other.
