Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian Episode 7 Preview

This episode delves deeper into Kuze’s family history, shedding light on his complex background. Ayano, the girl chosen to support Yuki, confronts Kuze with some tough questions. She reminds him how their grandfather disapproved of his opposition to Yuki and challenges him on why he aligns with her enemy instead of standing by her side. Through this conversation, it becomes clear that Kuze’s reluctance to openly discuss his sister stems from his complicated family dynamics. However, it’s also revealed that his decision to support Alya is entirely his own and does not mean he harbours any ill will towards Yuki.
We also gain more insight into Ayano’s character in this episode. She carries herself with the unwavering loyalty of a knight or samurai, deeply devoted to both Kuze and Yuki. Her dedication is rooted in her family’s legacy, as her grandfather served the Suou family for generations, and she followed in his footsteps. After enduring rigorous training under his guidance, Ayano now serves Yuki directly.
In addition, we see more layers of Kuze’s personality revealed. Despite initially coming across as a slacker, he’s actually more talented than his younger sister. Yuki even seems excited at the prospect of finally facing off against her brother, who has always excelled in every field. Kuze’s perceptiveness also shines through when he sees right through Masha’s seemingly airheaded behavior, recognizing it as a deliberate act.
This episode truly highlights the multidimensional nature of the characters in the series. Even Masha, who often appears overly carefree, is much more complex beneath the surface.
Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian Episode 8 Review

Today’s episode starts right from the part where a very angry Alya goes to the student council president to complain about what just happened with her and Kuze. She tells him how they were subjected to humiliation in front of the school and this time they’re going to have a debate and showcase their legitimacy to the upcoming student council president election. It appears that Alya has taken the whole thing very seriously cause Taniyama was specifically rude towards Kuze.
Not only that, but she also becomes doubly motivated to win when she realises she might be the one because of whom, Kuze got insulted in the first place. The way Kuze chose to support Alya in the place of Yuki did not sit well with Taniyama. She thought that Kuze had betrayed his partner to support a rival. Hence, she believed she was doing justice when she dragged our couple.

The debate begins and right from the start you can see that Alya is nervous. It will be the first time she will speak in front of so many people and that too having a debate in front of them. This frazzled her mind but Kuze quickly helped her calm down with the help of some surprisingly bold jokes. Following that, we witnessed a very good debate that at first seemed like it would not go according to our couple.
But as things progress, both parties come forward with their strongest opinions and counter opinions, making the whole thing a pretty entertaining exchange. In this episode, we also finally get to know the real reason behind Kuze choosing Alya over Yuki.
Previously he chose to run for the vice president’s role because he felt guilty towards his sister for separating from her. However, this time he is doing this purely because he wants to stay beside Alya and support her. This is already a confession in my books and hopefully, they will still be able to admit their love properly someday in the future.

Verdict
Today’s episode was pretty interesting as it showcased a debate in a very fun manner. It also highlighted why Alya is a strong candidate for student council president, especially given how formidable Yuki is as her rival. Their battle will be much more intense to witness and I am just waiting for that for now.
