Alchemy of Souls Season 2 Overview
Alchemy of Souls season 2 (Alchemy of Souls Part 2: Light and Shadow/ 환혼: 파트2) is the sequel of the Korean historical drama series directed by Park Joon-hwa and starring Lee Jae-wook, Jung So-min, Hwang Min-hyun, Shin Seung-ho, Yoo Jun-sang, Oh Na-ra and Jo Jae-yoon, alongside other cast members.
The sequel brings the story 3 years after the tragic ending we witnessed in season 1, and with Go Yoon-jung joining the cast as the new female lead. As Jang Uk becomes a hunter of the soul-shifters, a young woman, a prisoner in her own home, seeks his help to reclaim her freedom.
Alchemy of Souls season 2 takes over tvN’s Saturday-Sunday 9:10 PM KST timeslot previously held by Under the Queen’s Umbrella.

tvN’s synopsis of the upcoming season reads: “Jang Uk returns from death, and three years later, the story of the mages unfolds anew. Jang Uk becomes a hunter of the soul-shifters when a young woman, a prisoner in her own home, seeks his help to reclaim her freedom.”

Directed by Park Joon-hwa and written by the Hong sisters- Hong Jung-eun and Hong Mi-ran, the show stars Lee Jae-wook, Go Yoon-jung, Hwang Min-hyun, Shin Seong-ho, alongside other cast members.

As Jang Uk looks for answers about the bloodworm and storms into Cheonbugwan, Seo Yul’s life is in danger and brings back another memory to Bu-yeon. Meanwhile, Heo Yoon-ok is out to teach Bu-yeon a lesson who later sees blue flowers blooming in her eyes just like the one Jang Uk told her about.

Alchemy of Souls season 2 episode 6 brings Seo Yul the truth about Bu-yeon as he hugs her while remembering his lost first love, however, he soon regains reason as he is ready to take the responsibility this time round. Kim Do-ju and Park Jin are excited about their upcoming wedding while Jang Uk tries to figure out whether to stop Jin Mu or not.
As Seo Yul prepares to go to Danhyanggok with Bu-yeon with the intention to kill her while dying with her, So Yi gets herself in trouble and makes him rush to her aide. Seeing this, Bu-yeon reveals Seo Yul’s illness to Jang Uk who rushes to save him when Seo Yul finds himself unable to fight because of the bloodworm.
