The much-awaited 10th episode of The Eminence in Shadow (陰の実力者になりたくて!) is here, and it has again managed to deliver a delightful watch. We got action, comedy and many more from this already cast-heavy series. So without further ado, let us jump right into this review.
The Eminence in Shadow Episode 10 Overview

This series has garnered quite the hype after its release. And the credit surely goes to good animation, a relatable male lead and a bunch of beautiful anime girls who are sure to start waifu wars.
The anime is directed by Nakanishi Kazuya, who is also famous for his work with Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu, Trinity Seven, Strike the Blood, etc. Nexus studio is handling the animation, which despite not being very famous in its field, is delivering satisfactory results as of now.
I have tried my best to keep the review as spoiler free as possible, but there are certain elements that I had to mention to give proper feedback.

The Eminence in Shadow Episode 10 Review and Recap – Claim Victory Over Nature
Today’s episode was not heavy on action, nor did we see Cid fighting hordes of Cult of Diablos members. But it still managed to become one of the most delightful and funniest episodes of this season.
The episode starts with Cid getting a letter from Alpha that he will have to move to the sacred land of Lindwurm to settle some old accounts. But before we moved on to the history of this city or knew more about the mission, we were given an ample dose of fanservice.

Yes, throughout the episode, we saw plenty of exhibits of oppai and oshiri (boobs and butts) jokes that did deliver comedy. Be it a size competition between Epsilon and Beta or Princess Iris and Alexia going to Gamma’s store and buying thongs, I’ll say this show masterfully delivered ecchi with comedy.
But that is not all, Rose Oriana, upon finding Cid is fine, becomes more and more enamoured with him and even travels to Lindwurm with him. On this journey, they discuss the very important history of the city and the extremely significant phenomenon of the Goddess’s trial.
This trial is associated with one of the most famous religions of this world, The Divine Teachings. They pray to the goddess Beatrix, and it is said that she once gave legendary powers to the heroes of this world. These heroes were then able to marry princesses from various kingdoms, and that is why Rose, who belongs to a higher status than Cid, could similarly marry him if they manage to pass the trial.

Cid obviously only focuses on the history bit and gives zero interest in her love confession, thinking she just wants to make him join the religion. As if this was not funny enough, after reaching Lindwurm, Cid finds out that Beta is a famous writer.

And not just that, but her novels strangely resemble stories like Romeo and Juliet, Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, One Piece etc. These were stories that Cid told her, cause she liked literature. He never in a million years thought that she would make a fortune by ripping off his tales from point to point.
Just like the time he was disappointed that Gamma was able to utilise his ideas, this time as well, he was disappointed that Beta was able to do the same.
Verdict
I totally enjoyed this episode, weirdly even more than the other ones, as they were able to time the comedy nicely.
Yes, one will have to accept that this anime does not really promote extremely original ideas, and it plays within the realms of the typical isekai harem genre. Nonetheless, it is pretty entertaining, and you need this type of guilty pleasure from time to time. Watch this anime on Netflix.
