What happened after Yuru captured Jin?

The interaction between Yuru and his attackers begins with Yuru demanding Asa’s presence. He clearly states that his supposed sister should be at the scene because he wants to talk to her. Jin then tells him that he can go to the Kagemori Manor to meet her, but he outright refuses.

He also discloses that he deliberately cut Jin in a shallow manner so that he would not die. This is because he himself did not see any animosity from Jin.

So did Asa come to meet Yuru?

When Jin tells Yuru that it is impossible for Asa to come, he finally agrees that he will indeed go to the Manor. There, he meets a mysterious man who seems to be quite polite in his conduct, but Jin and Asa were not at all happy when they saw him. Even though he was part of the Kagemori clan, his presence was not welcome by others. Most likely, he would turn out to be a major antagonist later.

What happens after Yuru meets Asa?

Asa was extremely happy while meeting her brother and started to fangirl over him. She also begins to ruminate over what kind of dress she should wear before meeting him. The moment she sees her brother, she then comically asks if she can hug him or not. Yuru obviously denied any hugs from her.

This segment was very funny as it mostly dwelt on the siblings’ bickering with each other.

Did Yuru get his answers?

Yuru finally asks us a very important question about their parents. He questioned her about where their mother and father were, who escaped with her all those years back. Strangely enough, Asa tells him that they vanished. Apparently, the moment they escaped the village, they were taken in by the Kagemori clan. While going to Okinawa, during their flight, both of them vanished without any trace.

Asa vehemently criticised Asa for still believing in a clan that let their parents disappear. Asa also did not budge from her stance.

What happens in the end?

Towards the end, an all-out fight breaks out when many daemons start to attack the Manor. Yuru and Asa, along with everyone, begin to run through the Manor and confront these daemons. Apparently, daemons always protect their masters because if they lose them, they can become stray daemons. And if a new contractor does not appear, they can vanish after a few decades or centuries.

After hearing this, Yuru decides not to harm the contractors of the daemons attacking him.

What worked and what did not work?

This episode works well as a follow-up to the previous, more intense episode. It offers insight into daemons and how they operate. The introduction of the new character is handled effectively, adding an intriguing layer of mystery to the story.

That said, the pacing feels slightly slower than necessary. It would have been more engaging to see a bit more progression in the overall storyline.
