Having met the real Jin Bu-yeon who warns her of the burden that she will have to carry if she uses the stone, she also gets to know that the barrier is the ice stone.

While things continue to get messy outside the barrier, Mu-deok is planning on soul-shifting very soon. However, upon knowing that the barrier is draining the energy of those inside it, she realises that her soul-shifting can cause their deaths.

After attacking the soul shifter, she realises that Jang Uk is safe. Their talks reveal that Mu-deok may be able to carry the burden of everyone’s deaths, but cannot do the same for Jang Uk. She does not dare to kill him and thus gets another promise from Jang Uk when he goes forward to kiss her.
