Fire and Blood are about to begin. The first Game of Thrones spin-off show, House of the Dragon Episode 1, is here, and fans around the world are excited to see if it can live up to the anticipation that preceded its original
On Sunday, August 21, House of the Dragon debuted exclusively on HBO Max. The cast includes Matt Smith, Milly Alcock, Paddy Considine, Rhys Ifans, and Emily Carey. Ryan J. Condal and George R. R. Martin are the show’s creators.
Long-form television at least is bringing back the original with a prequel. It begins by creating a connection between the unfolding events and the lovely Princess Daenerys Targaryen in HOTD, which is set roughly 200 years before the events of GOT.
A definite plus and a negative for House of the Dragon is that it is a more intimate fantasy drama than the original show, which is overseen by Ryan J. Condal and George R. R. Martin. On the one hand, GoT covered all of Westeros, whilst its predecessor concentrated on one powerful family, House Targaryen.
However, after the release of the first episode, when fans got a glance at the Targaryen family, there was nothing but love for them. Fans from all over praised the show on Twitter and other social media through some very relatable memes.

Finally, after the release of the House of the Dragon Episode 1 fans of the previous season of Game of Thrones will undoubtedly have a fever-pitch nostalgia for that charismatic, chaotic world. Mondays won’t be as blue but rather a flaming dragon red.
When the first season of the original show debuted in 2011, it carved a new route for fantasy. The HoTD comes after it. Only time and the next nine episodes will be able to tell whether it is able to carve out a separate personality for itself, away from the massive shadow of GoT, or not.
