Netflix’s Escape The Undertaker Review: Never Meet Your Heroes!

Escape The Undertaker, a new American interactive horror film, is now out on Netflix. Directed by Ben Simms, it stars The Undertaker, Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods, and BE. The duration of the film is 31 minutes during which are provided with choices to make for the characters.

The synopsis reads – Can The New Day survive the surprises at The Undertaker’s spooky mansion? It’s up to you to decide their fate in this interactive WWE-themed special.

Netflix’s Escape The Undertaker Review Does Not Contain Spoilers

About the interactive horror film, Netflix shared, “In this interactive film featuring WWE Superstars, The Undertaker has set a trap for the decorated tag team The New Day at his mansion. What they don’t know: The Undertaker’s mansion is an extreme Haunted House, packed to the brim with supernatural challenges. It’s up to viewers to decide the fate of these three poor souls trying to survive the wrath of The Undertaker.”

Imagine you are all excited to meet your favourite celebrity, hero or player, but they lay a trap to kill you! Terrifying, isn’t it? Well, that’s the plot of Netflix’s Escape The Undertaker interactive film. The film starts with the former WWE fighter telling us the power and prominence of the Urn. Yes, the same famous Urn we’ve seen during various matches. He says that whoever tries to get their hands on it, the Urn will feed on their soul.

The New Day’s Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods, Big E visit The Undertaker’s mansion. Little did they know their excitement would be crushed as their favourite personality would lure them towards the Urn and eventually kill them. But, as a viewer, we get options to decide what the trio should do. After every 7-8 minutes, Netflix gives us two options, and our choices will decide the fate of The New Day boys.

The streaming platform is promoting it as a horror film. So the set-up has a creepy mansion, dim lights and whispering sounds. Despite using the key elements used in horror stories, they didn’t appear scary at all. I believe it is more of an adventure film. Every choice you make will either save Kofi, Xavier of Big E or kill them. The choices I made helped me save the trio. I won’t reveal my choices because it would kill the fun when you take part in it.

Netflix’s Escape The Undertaker Review: Final Thoughts

Overall, The Undertaker’s Netflix film is just a 30 minutes fun interactive activity that needs no brain. It also reminded me of the phrase, ‘Never meet your heroes’. You don’t have to be a WWE fan to enjoy it. There are a few action scenes and a few “scary” scenes that made me laugh. If you like to make decisions for other people and want to watch something light and fun with some mystery, this film is apt for you.

Escape The Undertaker is now streaming on Netflix.
