Trapped In A Dating Sim, or Otome Game Sekai wa Mob ni Kibishii Sekai desu is a fantasy, romance and isekai anime based on a light novel written by Yomu Mishima and Monda. The anime is being directed by Kazuya Miura, known for previously directing anime such as Uzaki-chan wa Asobitai, and Shinichi Fukumoto, who served as the assistant director of Tantei Wa Mou Shindeiru.
The series is being animated by Studio ENGI, which was also behind director Miura’s previous directorial work, Uzaki-chan. The series is being published by Kadokawa, which is the entity behind several other anime giants like Your Name, Mushoku Tensei, and the Fate series. Trapped In A Dating Sim Episode 6 Review- A Lot More Awesome!
Let us get this out of the way here so this doesn’t come in the way of my unending praise for this weird show- yes, I see that the animation is subpar. I see the uneven eyes, the protruding mouths, the weird shine everything has, the characters’ mouths not moving in time with the dialogue, and everything else that is wrong with the show. I see why manga readers tell everyone willing to listen to drop this and read the manga instead. It is extremely obvious how horrible the studio has treated this show and how good it could have been with more competent animation.

However, manga readers fail to consider most times how unforgiving and unreachable manga can be for people. It is either expensive to get for westerners or can’t be read legally at all. It doesn’t have colours, is supposed to be read right to the left, and doesn’t feature the music that most people are accustomed to. It is a great medium, but it can be extremely daunting for people unfamiliar with it. Most people prefer the comfort and accessibility of anime, no matter how bad it looks, and it is hard to blame them, especially if the content of the show is this good.
There is so much to love about this show that it boggles the mind. It is such a great concept, has some great characters, a lot of good motivations and moments, and provides a very high entertainment value. One can imagine how great the manga must be after watching the show, but that doesn’t mean the anime doesn’t have merit on its own. It is a great show, and while it does have its share of problems, it has a lot of great qualities that this episode showcased perfectly.

We don’t have enough time to get to everything, but it was a lot of fun to get back to the less serious aspects of the show. Leon’s commitment to the art of teamaking is adorable, and so is the respect he holds for his teacher. The festival makes a lot of sense as a plot point of the show, and so does it being used to pit the prince and Leon against each other again. The stakes aren’t very high, but they can’t be at their peak every time Marie and Leon interact. Her seemingly being Leon’s hateful sister from another life also puts a delightful twist on things.
Leon’s interactions with the Queen were tremendous, and so is what the show is doing with his character. I expect us to go into more detail about him in the future, but for now, him leaning into his hateful persona is awesome and adds a lot to his character. Olivia and Angelica have been sidelined a little, but they are still playing important roles in the series, so it is all good for them. This was a funny, if a little inconsequential, episode, but it was all the better for it.
Verdict
Trapped In A Dating Sim Episode 6 was a boatload of fun, and was the start of a promising new arc for the show. Things seem to be on the up and up, and every outing remains just as exciting as the last.

The review is noticeable sparse. The arrival of the Queen and her effect on events was a big source of comedy this episode. It was hilarious that Leon wanted to add her to his growing harem. Equally as fun was bring in his tea-making senpai to get him to behave.
The returning trope of the school festival could use a once over too. How well it uses the trope to move the story along especially compared to other series. And how the show seems to double back on plot points. like even the author recognized it blew past a lot of story in the first 5 episodes and is going back to give them a proper viewing and the pad out the episode count. Just a few thoughts.
