Tower of God Season 2 Episode 4 Recap

Tower of God Season 2 Episode 5 Review Khun Can't Be Deceived

Today’s episode was filled with dramatic twists, featuring both betrayals and moments of redemption. Prince experiences a harsh betrayal by his subordinate, Kim Lurker, who is meant to protect him. Instead, Kim manipulates new members of his group and brainwashes Yeon into fighting for him. Nya also betrays Wangnan by siding with Kim.

Nya’s betrayal, however, has a tragic backstory. After being abandoned by his former teammates, an old lady cared for him. When she fell into debt with Lurker Cash, Nya became a pawn to protect her. Despite his loyalty, Kim ultimately betrays Nya, brutally beating him. Adding to the chaos, Rapdevil betrays Prince as well, attempting to kill him in order to secure the rooms needed to ascend the tower with Kim.

As everything falls apart, Wangnan confronts the harsh reality of possibly never being able to climb the tower, compounded by Nya’s death. Faced with despair, Wangnan formulates a plan. If failure seems inevitable, he’d rather team up with a formidable enemy than allow the wicked to win. He approaches Viole, who is fighting Love and begs for his help. Surprisingly, Viole agrees.

Tower of God Season 2 Episode 5 Review And Recap

Tower of God Season 2 Episode 5 Review Khun Can't Be Deceived

Today’s episode started with a memory from the past. Khun recalls Bam as an innocent boy who was not betrayed yet. Here, we see Endorsi asking Bam to go on a date, who does not take her too seriously. He even picks a flower so that he can give it to Rachel later. Then, in the present time, we see Khun being informed of a talented yet dangerous slayer on the 20th floor. After that, he meets with Edin, the scout.

Edin is a speeder who hasn’t let anyone get behind him on his way to the 25th floor. But even when he is so talented, he refuses to join any regulars for unknown reasons. Khun wants him, but because of his reluctance, he lures him into making a bet. If he wins the bet, Edin will get a Suspendium, but if he cannot, then he’ll have to join Khun. The way Khun conducted the bet and the way he recruited his teammate, one thing is clear, he is ruthless and a genius.

It doesn’t matter what ways he uses evading him can be troublesome if he sets his eyes on you. The unsurprising look from his new subordinates also proves that Khun has done similar things previously as well. Then we see Khun going to Rachel and being kind and sweet to her, which might make you enraged, considering she’s the one who tried to kill Bam.

She is still acting like a victim and even tries to gain pity points by crying and mentioning the death of Bam in front of Khun. However, someone like Khun should not be dumb enough to fall for her tricks like Bam did. Khun is intelligent enough to figure out the motive and the facade of Rachel, who is just using others to climb the tower.

Verdict

I absolutely loved this episode because we finally see what Khun’s actual goal is. It is high time we accept that Khun is not someone who can be fooled or manipulated, and he might be the only one who can bring justice to Bam. His presence definitely increased the anticipation for newer episodes.
