The First Responders Episode 5 premiered on November 26, 2022, with a total runtime of 69 minutes. It is a new thriller K-drama series directed by Shin Kyung Soo and written by Min Ji Eun. The series (소방서 옆 경찰서) stars Kim Rae-won as Jin Ho-gae, Son Ho-jun as Bong Do-jin, and Gong Seung-yeon as Song Seol. The rest of the cast includes Jung Jin-woo, Lee Jung-hu, Ji Woo, Jung Sang-hoon, Kang Gi-doong, Son Ji-yoon, Woo Mi-hwa, Seo Hyun-chul, Lee Hwa-jung and more.
The first season premiered on SBS TV on November 12, 2022, and airs every Friday and Saturday at 10 pm KST, while the second season is scheduled for release in the second half of 2023. The First Responders takes over SBS’s Friday-Saturday 10 PM KST timeslot previously occupied by One Dollar Lawyer.

The First Responders Episode 5 Recap
The episode starts in a funeral home where a family is mourning the death of their loved one but things soon go south when a loan shark appears to demand the borrowed money. The family finds out that the borrowed money went from 5 million won to 30 million won due to added interest. The loan shark was taken to court by the family because of the unlawful addition of the interest. Anna began to suspect that the loan shark had forged the documents.
Meanwhile, Jin Ho-gae was getting prepared to go in a sting operation. He disguised himself as a felony by displaying fake injury on his face. He arrived at a spot of the meeting where the recruiter had set up. Upon reaching, he finds out that his job is to murder a person.
Along with the rest of the team, he goes to the building where they are supposed to carry out the mission. They started by sealing off the building by locking all the doors. Ho-gae, finds out that the man was planting explosives to blow up the entire building after investigating.

The recruiter finds out that Ho-gae is lying about his identity and locks him up. The rest of the team of criminals starts to carry out the rest of the plan. Ho-gae manages to get himself free and informs Anna about the plan. She gets in touch with the fire department, and they are on their way to save the people.
Ho-gae along with the fire department, manages to save Anna and her entire team. They rush in an ambulance to reach the court in time for the ongoing court case. Anna presents the proof that shows the documents were forged. The loan shark is found guilty of the crime, and the case is dismissed.
At the end of the episode, the Chief Prosecutor is again seen plotting against Ho-gae. Ho-gae arrives at a mysterious area, but the episode ends abruptly on a cliffhanger.
The First Responders Episode 5 Review
The plot of the series has been consistently living up to the expectations of the viewer. The episode does not follow the usual norm of a case where the officers are supposed to solve it. Each character was actively involved in it, which kept it interesting.
The development of the characters is also seen as they show us a glimpse of their past. As usual, the actors did a great job of portraying the characters as their script demanded. Kim Rae-won stood out and carried the entire plot with his incredible performance.
The story is always kept fresh and intricate, which keeps the viewer engaged and asking for lore.
